When the Bladder is cold and the Sanjiao (Triple Burner) has heat accumulation, leading to difficult urination and Guan Ge syndrome (obstruction of both upper and lower orifices), if the pathogen is in the Six Fu-organs, the Yang pulses will be vigorous; if in the Five Zang-organs, the Yin pulses will be vigorous. Acupoints Hegu (LI4) and Taichong (LR3) are indicated.
For complete obstruction of both stool and urine: Moxibustion on Shenshu (BL23? Note: Text says Pangguangshu BL28) three moxa cones, Dantian (CV4) fourteen moxa cones, Baomen (EX-CA1) fifty moxa cones. Yingchong is located in the depression anterior and posterior to the medial malleolus, three moxa cones. Jingzhong is located 1.5 cun below the umbilicus, three cun lateral to the midline on both sides, one hundred moxa cones. Moxibustion on Dachangshu (BL25) three moxa cones.
For difficulty in passing stool and urine: Moxibustion on Dachangshu (BL25) and Yingchong, three moxa cones each; Xiaochangshu (BL27) three moxa cones. Jingzhong is located 1.5 cun below the umbilicus, three cun lateral to the midline on both sides, one hundred moxa cones.
For yellow-red urine with incontinence: Moxibustion on Wangu (SI4), Pangguangshu (BL28), Sanjiaoshu (BL22), Chengjiang (CV24), and Xiaochangshu (BL27).
For urine resembling scattered fire (abnormal discharge): Moxibustion on Guanyuan (CV4) one hundred moxa cones, Fuliou (KI7) five moxa cones.
For urinary retention with coldness below the umbilicus: Moxibustion on Pangguangshu (BL28), Baomen (EX-CA1), Dantian (CV4), Shenque (CV8), and Yingchong.
For dysuria: Moxibustion on three cones above the spinous process opposite the umbilicus.
Selection based on urine color: For blue-green, select Yongquan (KI1); for red, RanGu (KI2); for yellow, Taixi (KI3); for white, Fuliou (KI7) and Lieque (LU7); for black, YinGu (KI10).
For heaviness in the sacrum: Moxibustion on Baihui (GV20) and Weizhong (BL40).
For hematuria: Moxibustion on Weishu (BL21), Guanyuan (CV4), Ququan (LR8), Laogong (PC8), Sanjiaoshu (BL22), Shenshu (BL23), Qihai (CV6), Taichong (LR3) three moxa cones, Shaofu (HT8) three moxa cones, Pangguangshu (BL28), and Xiaochangshu (BL27).
For borborygmus, loose stools, and abdominal pain: Moxibustion on Shenque (CV8) one hundred moxa cones, Sanyinjiao (SP6) three moxa cones.
When Heart and Kidney are affected by pathogens, Water and Fire fail to interact, leading to accumulations, alternating tightness and relaxation, generalized Bi-syndrome, numbness, hemiplegia, limb spasms, and even infertility. Excess patterns manifest as pain; deficiency patterns manifest as itching.
The body has four Seas: Qihai (CV6), Xuehai (SP10/Zhagong?), Zhaohai (KI6), and Suishai (defined here as Juegu/Gallbladder 39). For deficient Zang-qi and insufficient True Qi, causing all types of Qi disorders, moxibustion on Qihai (CV6) is indicated.
For bodily numbness: First select Jinggu (BL64), then Zhongfeng (LR4) and Juegu (GB39), all treated with needle reduction method.
For Bi-syndrome involving chest/back, Yuji (LU10), fullness and irritability, Shangqiu (SP5), torticollis/spasm, Ganshu (BL18).
For paralysis: Select Hegu (LI4), Quchi (LI11), Xià Sānlǐ (ST36), Kunlun (BL60), and Taichong (LR3).
For generalized Bi-syndrome: Ge Shu (BL17), Lin Qi (GB41). For chills: Zu Lin Qi (GB41), Pishu (BL20).
For excessive sleepiness: Taixi (KI3), Zhaohai (KI6), Tianjing (SJ10), Pishu (BL20), Ganshu (BL18), Sanyinjiao (SP6).
For Bi-syndrome: Fengshi (GB31), Kunlun (BL60). ○ Must refer to Yuan-source points and other symptom-specific points for modification.
Heart and abdominal pain with vomiting indicates Cold-Heat or Phlegm-Fluid lodging in the Stomach and Intestines. All vomiting results from rebellious Yin Qi overcoming Yang Qi.
For upper vomiting and lower constipation (Guan Ge syndrome): Reduce the Four Gates (Hegu LI4 and Taichong LR3).
For vomiting: Needle Zhongwan (CV12) and Neiguan (PC6), along with Sanyinjiao (SP6), retain the needle for miraculous effect.
For dry heaving: Select Chize (LU5), Zhangmen (LR13), Jianshi (PC5), Guanchong (SJ1), Zhongzhu (SJ3 - text says Zhongzhu/Zhongzhu), Yinbai (SP1), and three moxa cones one cun below the nipple.
For hematemesis: Select Yuji (LU10), Tianshu (ST25), Laogong (PC8), Xingjian (LR2), Shenmen (HT7), Daling (PC7), Chize (LU5), Shangxing (GV23) seven moxa cones. ○ Add symptoms later.
For vexation: Select Jianshi (PC5), Shenmen (HT7), Yuji (LU10). For Cold-Heat: Xinshu (BL15), Juegu (GB39), Pishu (BL20). For rising Qi: Feishu (BL13), Tiantu (CV22) [Moxibustion on Tiantu is effective for asthma]. For Qi Obstruction: Geshu (BL17), Danzhong (CV17).
For borborygmus: Quchi (LI11), Dachangshu (BL25). For mental restlessness: Hukou (Hegu LI4), Sanjiaoshu (BL22), Daling (PC7). For lethargy: Zhaohai (KI6). For inability to vomit: Xinshu (BL15). For vomiting and dysphagia: Yinjiao (CV7). For deficiency: Tonify Qihai (CV6).
