Indications: Major wind (leprosy) causing loss of eyebrows and hair, and Taiyang malaria. Symptoms begin in the back with initial chills followed by fever, sweating that is difficult to stop. Heavy head, muscle spasms (Zhuan Jin), pain in the lower back and spine, hemiplegia, urinary incontinence, hardness of the lower abdomen, wind-bi, pain in the hip joint (Bi Shu), knee pain, weakness and lack of strength in the feet. For lumbar pain caused by excess conditions of the Kidney and Bladder, needling to bleed yields excellent results; for deficiency conditions, needling is contraindicated—exercise caution. ○ This acupoint primarily drains heat from the four limbs. Weizhong (BL40) is the Xi-Cleft point of Blood. For febrile diseases with no sweat, difficulty urinating, persistent epistaxis, rigid spine with opisthotonos, convulsions, epilepsy, hot feet, jue-ni (cold extremities), and inability to flex or extend, draining blood from the Foot-Taiyang channel brings immediate recovery. ○ For spontaneous sweating and night sweats, apply the tonifying method at Weizhong (from *Taiyi Ge*). Combined with Renzhong (GV26) it eliminates severe lumbar and spinal pain (difficult to control after injury); combined with Huantiao (GB30) it removes wind-dampness pain in the legs (from *Yulong Fu*); combined with Baihuan Shu (BL30) it treats back pain radiating to the waist, tested successfully (from *Baizheng Fu*). Weizhong combined with Kunlun (BL60) treats connected lumbar pain (from *Qianjin Fang*); "For the back and waist, seek Weizhong" (from *Si Zong Xue Ge*). It treats inability to rise due to lumbar pain, heaviness pulling on the spine causing soreness, wind-epilepsy and painful spasms making movement difficult, irregular wind-bi, febrile diseases with stiff knees unable to flex or extend; needling brings immediate health (Ma Danyang's Twelve Acupoints Song).
Heyang (BL57) is located 4 cun below Weizhong. Needle slightly deeper, 6 fen; moxa 5 moxibustion cones.
Indications: Rigid lumbar and spine pulling into abdominal pain, heat in the medial thigh, soreness and swelling, cold hernia, testicular asymmetry, continuous metrorrhagia and leukorrhea in women. ○ Combined with Jiaoxin (KI8) it treats qi deficiency and bleeding in women (from *Baizheng Fu*).
Chengjin (BL56) is located 2 cun below Heyang. Moxa 3 cones; needling is prohibited.
Indications: Cold bi, rigidity of the back and waist, axillary swelling, constipation, five types of hemorrhoids, heel pain pulling into the lower abdomen, spasms, cholera, nasal congestion and epistaxis. ○ For cholera and spasms, moxa 50 cones (from *Qianjin Fang*).
Chengshan (BL58) is located 8.5 cun below Weizhong. Needle 7 fen; moxa 5 to 49 cones, though moxibustion is less effective than needling.
Indications: Head heat, epistaxis, alternating chills and fever, epilepsy, hernia, abdominal pain, hemorrhoidal swelling, hematochezia, lumbar and back pain, knee swelling, calf soreness, heel pain, cholera with spasms, tremors, inability to walk or stand. For cases with pathogenic heat, apply the reducing method. ○ For spasms, moxa according to age in cones; this is miraculous. For cholera, moxa 100 cones (from *Qianjin Fang*). Combined with Changqiang (GV1) moxa is best for hemorrhoids (from *Yulong Fu*). Yinlingquan (SP9) treats chest and hypochondriac fullness; combined with this point, appetite returns naturally. Also combined with Yuji (LU10) and Kunlun (BL60) to treat spasms and vertigo, which subside immediately (from *Xi Hong Fu*). Treats spasms and chronic hemorrhoids (from *Lingguang Fu*). Needling Changqiang combined with Chengshan effectively treats fresh intestinal wind bleeding (from *Baizheng Fu*). Combined with the inner malleolus tip it treats spasms and blurred vision; combined with Yinjiao (CV7) it treats chest and diaphragm stuffiness, improving appetite (from *Tianxing Mi Jue*). It effectively treats lumbar pain, hemorrhoids, difficult defecation, foot-qi (Hong Kong foot), knee swelling, cold sensation in both feet, acid soreness turning into epidemic fevers, tremors, malaria, aversion to cold, cholera, and spasms; needling brings immediate peace (Ma Danyang's Twelve Acupoints Song).

Indications: Hemorrhoidal pain preventing sitting or standing, leg soreness and swelling preventing standing, joint wind preventing flexion and extension, epilepsy, cold malaria, dizziness of head and eyes, rebellious qi. ○ For excess-type malaria, there is lumbar and back pain; for deficiency-type, there is epistaxis; Feiyang governs these (from *Qianjin Fang*). Combined with Zhizheng (SI7) it treats dizziness (from *Baizheng Fu*).
Fuyang (BL59) is located 3 cun above Kunlun. Needle 5 fen, retain for seven breaths; moxa 3 cones (or 7 cones).

It stops wheezing and cures foot-qi (Hong Kong foot) (from *Lingguang Fu*). It treats lumbosacral pain, foot pain preventing walking, shoulder and back stiffness; moxa 7 cones. It also treats infantile scrotal swelling; moxa 3 cones, cone size like a wheat grain (from *Shennong Jing*). Combined with Yuji (LU10) and Chengshan (BL58) it treats spasms and vertigo, subsiding immediately (from *Xi Hong Fu*). For retained placenta, needle the Foot-Taiyang channel 4 fen deep; the point is one cun posterior to the lateral malleolus in a hollow area, likely referring to this point. It also governs malaria with excessive sweating, lumbar pain preventing bending or straightening, eyes feeling as if protruding, neck feeling as if being pulled. Kunlun governs these. Combined with Weizhong (BL40) it treats connected lumbar and back pain (from *Qianjin Fang*). It treats hemiplegia (effective prescriptions). It treats spasms, lumbosacral pain, heavy arms extending to headache in the yin region, acute stiffness of the spine and back, sudden dyspnea rushing to the heart, inability to move feet or walk causing groaning. To seek peace, find this point for needling. Additional indications: blurred vision as if eyes are protruding, head heat, epistaxis, abdominal distension and pain preventing breathing, cholera with diarrhea, wind-epilepsy with locked jaw, infantile scrotal swelling, vertigo, spasms, vomiting, corpse-jue, evil invasion, sudden knee pain (Ma Danyang's Twelve Acupoints Song).

Yang Qiao, Yin Qiao, Yang Ling, and Yin Ling are four points used for foot-qi (Hong Kong foot); combined with Zusanli (ST36) they treat foot-qi (Hong Kong foot) and remove various disorders of the waist (from *Lingguang Fu*). This is named Gui Lu; use fire-needle at the fifth session to treat evil-induced mania (from *Qianjin Fang*).
