Treatment for poisoning by the "She Gong" (a mythical aquatic creature or insect causing specific sores), there are three types of sores. One type presents with sores black as beans, surrounded by reddened skin; contact with clothing may cause stinging pain. Another type forms ulcers that eventually break open, accompanied by chills and fever in the late afternoon. The third type resembles burns with blisters; this is the most urgent, potentially fatal within days, causing chills and fever.
Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata (Wutou Gen, 乌头根) - 2 liang
Rhizoma Cimicifugae (Shengma, 升麻) - 2 liang
The above two herbs are sliced, boiled in 3 sheng of water until reduced to 1 sheng. Take at a suitable warm temperature in one dose. Apply the dregs topically to the sores. (*Waitai Miyao*, Vol. 40)
For poisoning by She Gong causing chills, fever, and localized sores differing from common patterns:
Cornu Rhinocerotis (Xijiao, 犀角)
Rhizoma Cimicifugae (Shengma, 升麻)
Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata (Wutou Gen, 乌头根) - each 2 liang
The above three herbs are boiled in 4 sheng of water until reduced to 1.5 sheng. Strain and divide into two doses. Take the second dose after an interval equivalent to cooking one meal. If necessary, prepare another batch. (*Waitai Miyao*, Vol. 40)
Another prescription:
Take whole Amaranthus tricolor (Chixian, 赤苋) including stems and leaves, crush and squeeze to obtain juice. Take 1 sheng, administered two to three times daily. (*Waitai Miyao*, Vol. 40)
Another prescription:
Take fresh stems and leaves of Cornus officinalis (Zhuyu, 茱萸) roughly the size of a tiger's mouth. Discard the ends, use only the middle portion. Crush thoroughly, boil in 2 sheng of water until reduced to 8 ge. Take in one dose. (*Waitai Miyao*, Vol. 40)
Water poisoning (Zhong Shui Bing, 中水病) is indicated by coldness in the fingers and toes; if warm, it is not water poisoning. The coldness may extend one cun, or up to the entire finger. Involvement up to one cun below the elbows and knees is mild; involvement reaching the elbows and knees is severe. (*Zhouhou Beiji Fang*, Vol. 7)

Take powder of Lodestone (Cishi, 磁石) capable of attracting needles. Take 1 fangcun bi with wine and white beverage. Explanation: Lodestone specifically attracts needles.
