After childbirth, a mass protrudes resembling a covered bowl with two lobes; this is the uterus, known as "Yintui" (prolapse of the yin), also called "Hulu" (gourd). Use Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction) (see Volume 11, Miscellaneous Formulas for Internal and External Use), remove Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix), and take continuously for two to three doses. The uterus will retract within a short time. Simultaneously, wash the area frequently with a decoction prepared from Jingjie Sui (Schizonepetae Spica), Huoxiang Ye (Agastachis Folium), and Qiuchun Shu Baipi (Ailanthi Cortex), each weighing approximately 20-30 grams (6-7 qian), roasted. Subsequently, take a decoction of Shudi (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata), Dangshen (Codonopsis Radix) 10 grams (3 qian), Danggui Shen (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) 8 grams (2 qian), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma) and Baishao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) each 5 grams (1.5 qian), taken orally for several doses to prevent recurrence. Alternatively, refer to the Grass Carp Formula for prolapsed intestine that cannot be retracted mentioned above, which is most effective.

Boil Zongshugen (Cocos Nucifera Root or Palm Root) with lean pork meat for a long time. Discard the root, consume the meat and drink the soup. After three to five times, it will naturally retract; its efficacy is miraculous.

After childbirth, a mass like a handkerchief protrudes. This may be caused by excessive exertion during delivery or liver flaccidity (Gan Wei). Some cases adhere to the bed sheet and cannot be retracted; this is the fetal membrane (Taimo). Treat according to the formula for uterine prolapse mentioned above, and it will retract.

Another prescription: Three chi of naturally yellow raw silk (boiled in lye water from charcoal ash until soft, rinsed thoroughly with clear water, and cut into very fine pieces), Huangla (Beeswax) 15 grams (5 qian), and Bai Mi (White Honey) 30 grams (1 liang).

Another prescription: One chi of naturally yellow silk (prepared as described above), Baimudan Genmu (Moutan Cortex or Paeoniae Radix Rubra root bark) 3 grams (1 qian, powdered), and Baiji (Bletillae Rhizoma) 3 grams (1 qian, powdered). [Text fragment indicates boiling process].

Another prescription: Ling Shen (Poria), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), and Taoren (Persicae Semen) each 3 grams (1 qian); Tai Dang (Codonopsis Radix) 8 grams (2.5 qian); Zhi Huangqi (Prepared Astragali Radix) 5 grams (1.5 qian); Zhi Gancao (Prepared Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) 1.5 grams (0.5 qian). Wash a pig bladder (or sheep bladder) clean, boil it to make a broth, remove the bladder, add the herbs, and decoct. Take on an empty stomach. It will not produce noise; multiple doses are required for efficacy. For blood deficiency, add Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma) and Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix).

Another prescription: Take one large carp. Fry the fish scales in oil until extremely crisp. Mix with salt, vinegar, and ginger juice, then steam and eat. Immediate effect.

First use Liaoqiao San (Forsythiae Powder), then apply Huangla Gao (Beeswax Ointment) for immediate effect.
Liaoqiao San: Zhi Huangqi (Prepared Astragali Radix), Liaoqiao (Forsythiae Fructus), Huafen (Trichosanthis Radix), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), and Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus) each 3 grams (1 qian); Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) 1 gram (0.3 qian). Decoct in water and take orally.
Huangla Gao: Huangla (Beeswax), Kufan (Alumen Exsiccatum), and Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba), each 1.3 grams (4 fen), ground into powder. Take with boiled water. Alternatively, using any of the previous formulas for uterine prolapse is also excellent.
