This worm is approximately one cun (approx. 3.3 cm) long. After being buried in the soil for several days, when dug up and opened, it suddenly expands to the size of a fist; it is named *Zimu Chong* (Mother-Child Worm). A pair will be regenerated subsequently. Use *Sophorae Flavescentis Radix* (Kushen, 苦参) 1 liang (approx. 37.5 g), soaked overnight in rice-washing water, steamed until cooked, then sun-dried and spread out; together with *Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus* (Shijunzi, 使君子) 5 qian (approx. 18.75 g), grind them into powder. Form pills with refined honey. Take 3 qian (approx. 11.25 g) on an empty stomach. If a new pair regenerates after finishing this dose, taking another dose will eradicate the root cause.
This condition is named *Fan Hua* (Flower-Reversal). Use *Lycii Cortex* or *Euphorbiae Lathyridis Herba* (Zelan Ye, 泽兰叶) 4 liang (approx. 150 g), decoct in water to fumigate and wash twice or thrice, then add *Alumen* (Kufan, 枯矾) to decoct and wash again for relief. Another prescription: See the Miscellaneous Treatment Section below.
Use 1 dou (approx. 10 liters) of calcined stone (Duan Shi, 锻石) stir-fried until yellow. Add 2 dou of water, stir evenly, let settle, and fumigate while hot.
Another prescription: Wash soft with warm water, use male rat feces (those with pointed ends are authentic) to burn and fumigate until cured. If the vaginal opening is ulcerated and fails to heal for a long time, use *Bletillae Rhizoma* (Baiji, 白芨)...
This is caused by wind pathogen invading the lower body. Use scallion white (*Allii Fistulosi Bulbus*, Congbai) plus frankincense (*Olibanum*, Ruxiang), pound together into a paste and apply externally; it will heal in one or two days.
Another prescription: *Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix* (Qianghuo, 羌活) and *Saposhnikoviae Radix* (Fangfeng, 防风) each 1 liang (approx. 37.5 g), decoct in water to fumigate and wash; also effective.
Postpartum injury to the Chong and Ren meridians leads to deficiency and exhaustion of Qi and Blood. Residual old blood remains, while new blood fails to consolidate; they merge and flow downward. Prolonged bleeding may gradually develop into consumptive disease (Xu Lao, 虚劳). The treatment should strongly tonify Qi and Blood, allowing old blood to circulate and new blood to generate. Do not lightly use astringent agents, which may cause stagnant blood to coagulate into masses (Zheng Jia, 症瘕) and cause lifelong harm. Use *Shiquan Dabu Tang* (Ten Ingredients Decoction for Great Tonification, 十全大补汤) (See Menstrual Regulation Section above). If there is stabbing pain in the lower abdomen, use *Siwu Tang* (Four Substances Decoction, 四物汤) added with *Corydalis Rhizoma* (Yanhusuo, 元胡索), *Pollen Typhae* (Puhuang, 蒲黄) (stir-fried), and *Zingiberis Rhizoma* (Ganjiang, 干姜) (stir-fried)...
There are two distinct symptoms here requiring different treatments. If due to inherent uterine coldness causing stagnation and lack of movement, *Heishen San* (Black Divine Powder, 黑神散) should be used (See Blood Syncope Formula below); this necessarily involves lower abdominal pain...
Postpartum, the Chong and Ren meridians are injured and Qi and Blood have not yet recovered. Indulgence in sexual activity damages the Bao Mai (uterine vessels); consumption of spicy and hot foods stirs up Ministerial Fire; or because lochia remains unexcreted, premature use of astringents causes retention. When bleeding resumes, careful examination is required. First, use *Siwu Tang* (Four Substances Decoction, 四物汤) with doubled amounts of *Angelicae Sinensis Radix* (Danggui, 当归) and *Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma* (Xiong, 川芎), plus *Codonopsis Radix* (Dangshen, 党参), prepared as a large dose to support healthy Qi. Then, adjust based on the specific injury. For cases due to sexual exertion, add this formula with *Astragali Radix* (Huangqi, 黄芪), *Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Preparata* (Zhigancao, 炙甘草), *Colla Corii Asini* (Ejiao, 阿胶) (stir-fried), *Artemisiae Argyi Folium* (Aiye, 艾叶), and *Peach Kernel* (Taoren, 桃仁)... to support healthy Qi.
Another prescription: *Schizonepetae Spica* (Jingshe Sui, 荆芥穗) 5 qian (approx. 18.75 g), stir-fried until black, decoct and take; bleeding stops immediately.
