Another prescription: Water willow branches, peach branches, and locust branches (three of each), along with Lemna minor (Zibeifuping), are boiled in water; wash the whole body once, then pass a lamp flame over the entire body to expel the smallpox toxin, causing the true smallpox lesions to appear.
Another prescription: One cup of refined sesame oil (Qingyou), white beeswax (Baila), fresh ginger juice (Shengjiangzhi), Cinnabar (Zhusha), and Realgar (Xionghuang) are heated together; wipe from head to toe over the entire body. After five or six days, the smallpox should have fully erupted. To observe whether the eruption is complete, verify using the soles of the feet; if there are lesions on the soles, the eruption is complete. However, for cases with sparse lesions, this rule does not strictly apply; generally, the eruption is considered complete when the fever subsides. If the fever has not subsided, even if there are lesions on the limbs, it is feared that the eruption is not yet complete. Do not assume that mild toxicity and few lesions mean one can neglect care.
