Treatment for smallpox lesions that are broken with unceasing pus discharge. Mianjian San (Cocoon Powder): Take silkworm cocoons, in any quantity. Fill them with raw alum powder, burn them into ash, grind the ash into a fine powder, and sprinkle it on the affected area; the discharge will dry up naturally. Alternatively, soak the ash in licorice water, let it dry, grind it again into a powder, and sprinkle it on the affected area; this makes the medicinal nature milder and more refined.
Juan Shu San (Rolling and Unfolding Powder): 1 liang of mung beans, 5 qian of tea leaves, 3 fen of realgar, and 2 fen of borneol. Grind all together into a fine powder. If the smallpox pustules have dried, mix the powder with hibiscus flower oil or winter plum blossom oil and apply externally. If the pustules are wet, simply sprinkle the powder directly onto the lesions.
Another prescription: 2 qian of pine pollen and 1 qian of red lead oxide. Grind evenly and sprinkle on the affected area.

Douhui San (Bean Ash Powder): Burn soybeans to ash, grind into a fine powder, and sprinkle on the affected area.
Treatment for bleeding from ulcerated smallpox lesions. Baidu San (Poison-Resolving Powder): Take rotten grass or rice straw used for roofing for many years.
