[Egg Acne-Prevention Formula]: One month before the Beginning of Spring, place seven eggs in a hemp cloth bag, tie the mouth tightly with thread, and soak them in a manure bucket. The manure should be thick and concentrated. After soaking for one month, take out the eggs. Bury the eggs (which have not touched water) in the soil for three days; ensure they are kept away from areas where people walk. On the morning of the Beginning of Spring, boil three eggs in a clay pot. Consume other foods sparingly to avoid being too full to eat the eggs; ensure all eggs are consumed within three days. For young children, one or two eggs may suffice. Consuming this regimen for three years will ensure that severe cases result in sparse acne/pox, while mild cases will not develop it at all.

Note: Pox/acne originates from parental hereditary toxins. Soaking in urine eliminates acquired toxins, while burying in soil nourishes innate Qi (vital energy). Administered during the time when Yang Qi returns at the Beginning of Spring, the toxin dissipates and pox becomes sparse; this is an inevitable principle. Parents who love their children must not disdain its foulness and neglect it.

[Tooscora Root Acne-Prevention Formula]: For infants regardless of gender, there are seven "Chu Days" (specific auspicious days in the lunar calendar) between May and August. On each Chu Day, take large Tooscora roots (Fructus Toosendan), pound them into a paste in a stone mortar, and decoct them in a new clay pot until a thick liquid forms. Pour the liquid into a basin. In a wind-sheltered place, use a piece of new white thin cloth dipped in the liquid to wipe the child's body from head to toe, leaving no gaps. Dry the skin with the cloth afterward and continue sheltering from wind for a moment. Dosage guidelines: Children aged 1-3 years use 7 Tooscora roots with 3 bowls of water; aged 4-5 years use 9 roots with 5 bowls of water; aged 6-7 years use 15 roots with 7 bowls of water; aged 8-10 years use 20 roots with 9 bowls of water; aged 11-15 years use 30 roots with 15 bowls of water. Avoid using iron utensils for pounding or boiling. Following this method prevents pox and also avoids sores and boils. If skeptical, leave one spot on the hand or foot unwashed; if pox develops, it will cluster exclusively in that unwashed area.

[Olive Acne-Prevention Formula]: After birth, seven days prior to the Winter Solstice, use 49 olives per child. Place them in a small rush bag and set on the ground beside the kitchen water vat. On the night of the Winter Solstice, place the olives (with pits) on a tile and roast over charcoal fire until "preserving nature" (charred outside but retaining internal properties). Grind into fine powder. Each day, mix one spoonful with boiling water and administer to the child. Finish consumption before the Beginning of Spring. A winter course reduces pox severity; annual repetition ensures prevention. If the child refuses, add a little sugar, though sugar is heating in nature and omitting it is preferable.

Another Method: Crush olive pits, grind into fine powder, mix with flour, and make into cakes/biscuits. Feed regularly to the child. Consumption exceeding half a jin (approx. 500g) ensures sparse pox; regular consumption guarantees prevention.

Another Method: Passed down from the Shen Xianggu family in Suzhou, claiming generations free of smallpox. Take one green olive and one inch of raw Licorice Root (Radix Glycyrrhizae), decoct in water. Administer every other day. By the fifth dose, black matter will pass in stool, indicating toxin removal. One or two additional doses will convert severe cases to mild, and prevent mild cases entirely.

[Three-Bean Decoction for Sparse Pox]: Use 3 bowls each of Adzuki Beans (Semen Phaseoli Rubri), Black Soybeans (Semen Sojae Nigrum), and Mung Beans (Semen Phaseoli Aurei). Add 3 liang of processed Human Feces Powder (Homo Faeces Praeparata). Boil together until very soft. Strain the beans, dry them, then return them to the juice. Repeat soaking and drying until the juice is fully absorbed. Store in a porcelain bottle. Daily, cook one small cup of these beans with one large cup of water in a clay pot. Consume both soup and beans. It reduces pox severity and clears heat/toxins clinically.

[Divine Efficacy Formula for Infants Not Developing Pox]: Use 5 fen each of Notopterygium Rhizome et Radix (Qianghuo), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma), Rehmanniae Radix Preparata (Shengdi), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Phellodendri Cortex Praeparata cum Vino (Jiu Jin Huangbai), and Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang); 2 fen each of Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong), Puerariae Radix (Gegen), Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang), Atractylodis Rhizoma (Cangzhu), Scutellariae Radix Praeparata cum Vino (Jiu Jin Huangqin), and Bupleuri Radix (Chaihu); 1 fen each of Carthami Flos (Honghua), Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Xixin), Tangerine Peel (Chenpi), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu), and Sappan Lignum (Sumu); 3 fen each of Licorice Root (Gancao), Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian), and Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Guishen); 5 li each of Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao) and Evodiae Fructus (Wuyu). Total 22 herbs. Weigh accurately as one dose. Decoct one day before Li Chun, Li Xia, Li Qiu, and Li Dong. Expose to dew overnight. Place the medicine bowl in a container with a little water, covered by a gauze sieve. If cloudy, place under eaves avoiding rain. Drink warm the next morning. Take four doses within one year to permanently prevent pox. Skeptics may try one or two doses; pox will be sparse. Diarrhea after the first dose indicates expulsion of fetal toxins; diarrhea stops at the second dose. No diarrhea initially suggests light toxins. For excess Liver Fire, add Mung Beans; Heart Fire, Red Beans; Kidney toxin, Black Beans; Upper body failure to erupt, Mint (Bohe); Lower body failure, Achyranthes Root (Niuxi); Convulsions, Uncaria (Gouteng); Pale color, Carthamus (Honghua). Added herbs max 1 qian each (double if doubled); Honghua and Bohe halved. Decoct in water to mix with powder.

[Luffa Acne-Prevention Formula]: Select fresh, edible luffa fruits. Hang under eaves to air-dry. Use only the 2-3 cun near the stem. Roast on a tile until "preserving nature," grind to fine powder. Mix 1 qian powder with 3 fen of water-purified Cinnabar (Zhusha). Dose: 5 fen per administration, mixed with brown sugar. Frequency depends on age: newborns once; under 3 years twice; over 3 years 3-4 times. Converts dense to sparse, sparse to none. An ancient formula, highly effective. One child took maximum doses and never developed pox.

[Secret Formula for Sparse Pox]: Collect fingernails/toenails from biological parents. Store beforehand. On New Year's Eve, collect equal amounts, roast on new tiles until "preserving nature." When smoke subsides, place on ground and cover with a bowl to prevent ash formation. Remove heat, grind to powder. Collect Phoenix Coat (membrane inside eggshell) from chicks hatched around mid-December. Roast on new tiles until slightly yellow, grind finely. Roast and grind Cicada Slough (Chan Tui). [Divine Efficacy Formula for Sparse Pox]: Lightly stir-fry Honeysuckle Flower (Jinyinhua), grind to powder, add little white sugar, mix with boiling water. Long-term use reduces pox.

Another Method: Decoct 1 jin Honeysuckle Flower and 4 liang Licorice Root (Gancao), mix with white sugar to form a paste. Take 1-2 spoons morning and evening. Reduces pox and detoxifies generally.

[Good Method for Sparse Pox]: At the hour of Winter Solstice, dig a pit approx. 1 chi deep in a frequently walked indoor area. Bury 15 eggs. Place bricks on four sides, lay bamboo strips on bricks, cover with bamboo, refill earth. Retrieve at the hour of Beginning of Spring. Daily, boil one egg with a pinch of Mung Beans (Lv Dou) and feed to child. Do not interrupt. Three courses guarantee lifelong prevention. Among many formulas, this simple one is miraculous.

[Various Formulas for Infant Sparse Pox]: Use 1 liang each of Adzuki Beans, Black Soybeans, and Mung Beans. Grind to powder. Process like Homo Faeces Praeparata: Insert powder into a fresh bamboo tube (ends intact, peeled/scraped thin). Seal hole with sharp fir wood tip and melted wax. Immerse in manure pit in December. Take out after one month, air dry. Mix 1 liang powder with 3 qian White Plum Blossoms (Meihua). Dose: 1 qian, washed down with decoction of frost-after Luffa Vine (Sigua Teng). Prevents pox effectively. Avoid meat/fish for 12 days; black stool indicates efficacy. Annual dose for three years prevents pox.

Appendix: Processing Homo Faeces Praeparata is similar. Use raw powdered Licorice Root (Gancao), sifted. Insert into tube. Immerse in male manure pit in winter, retrieve in summer next year. Dry, scrape tube. Repeat immersion annually for 3-4 years; longer is better. If tube cracks, replace; the feces powder forms a solid block. Avoid fire, grind, re-insert. If tube intact, no need to replace yearly; just reseal wax. The powder turns dark yellow/black. Dry, grind, store in paper wrapped in ventilated place for 1-1.5 years until odorless. This is a supreme treasure for pediatric heat-toxin, erysipelas, throat diseases, and various heat toxins. Preparing it for others accumulates great merit.

[Plum Blossom Acne-Prevention Formula]: Collect white plum blossoms in December. Air-dry, grind to powder. Make pills with refined honey, size of Chinese Quince Seed (Qianshi). Dissolve one pill in good wine. Recite "Taiyi Jiuku Tianzun" 100 times. Highly efficacious.
