Below the shoulder is the axilla.
If the affected area is red, treat it according to the various formulas for treating carbuncles and sores (yong du). If the skin color remains unchanged, treat it according to the various formulas for treating yin abscesses (yin ju).
If the lesion is like a bean or a grain of rice, accompanied by numbness or pain, it may be a ding sore (ding chuang); consult the Ding Sore section for differentiation and treatment.
The treatment method can be found in the Goiter section.
Take one steamed cake, split it into two halves, place one to two qian of fine Mituo seng (Lead monoxide) powder between them, and quickly clamp it against the axilla. Sleep for a short while, then discard when cool. If only one axilla has bromhidrosis, use only one half to clamp. Someone who suffered from this condition for over twenty years was cured permanently using this method; it has been tried many times without fail.
Another prescription: Take one large spider (or two small spiders), wrap it well in yellow mud, and burn it red in fire. Remove it, let it cool, remove the mud, add one qian of Qing fen (Calomel), and grind them together into a fine powder. Apply several times a day. Mild cases will heal in two days; severe cases will be permanently cured in three to four days. This is even more convenient and miraculous than the previous formula, with 100% efficacy.
Another prescription: Take four liang of Mituo seng (Lead monoxide), four liang of Chao nao (Borneol), two liang of Ku bai fan (Calcined Alum), and three qian of Qing fen (Calomel). Grind all ingredients into a fine powder. Frequently rub on both axillae. Effects will be seen after half a month of continuous application; do not interrupt. Complete cure can be achieved within six months.
Another prescription: Take one fen of She xiang (Musk), two fen of Dan fan (Chalcanthite), and three fen of Shui fen (White lead). Take two river snails, remove the operculum, and put each medicinal ingredient into the snail shell. After one night, the snail meat will liquefy. Use this liquid to rub the axilla. The odor will exit through the stool; bury the excrement in soil to prevent others from smelling it and suffering dizziness. This formula is extremely effective and should not be underestimated.
Mix Yan zhi (Vermilion/Cinnabar) and Ge fen (Clam shell powder) with water and apply as a poultice.
Another prescription: Take Ji shi bai (Chicken feces, white part), stir-fry and grind it. Take one qian per dose, administered with wine. Three doses will result in a cure.
For damp sores on the breasts of men and women, characterized by dripping pus and blood in patches, with incessant pain and itching, known as Huo ge chuang (Fire革 sore). Take five qian of Feng ke (Honeycomb), five fen of Qing fen (Calomel), and one fen of Bing pian (Borneol). Grind into a fine powder. Prepare a decoction of Yin hua (Flos Lonicerae Japonicae) to mix with the powder for application two or three times until scabs form and healing is complete. Alternatively, treat according to the various formulas for damp sores and yellow water sores in the Carbuncle and Sore section.
Take three fen of Sheng lu jiao (Fresh Deer Antler) and one fen of Sheng gan cao (Raw Licorice Root). Grind into a fine powder. Mix with one egg yolk. Heat gently in a copper vessel and apply topically. Apply twice daily. It will heal immediately; the effect is miraculous.
