Yi Zhen (a type of infantile rash similar to measles but milder): This refers to the condition where, while in the womb, the fetus has been long steamed by the heat qi of the mother's blood. After birth, exposure to cool wind externally causes red spots all over the body, resembling millet grains. If seen within one month after birth, it is called "Lan Yi Chuang" (Rotting Clothes Sore); if seen within one hundred days, it is also called "Bai Ri Chuang" (Hundred Days Sore); if seen before the eruption of smallpox, it is named Yi Zhen. With careful nursing, it will heal spontaneously without treatment.
Gai Dou Zhen (Rash following Smallpox): This refers to the eruption of rash immediately after the healing of smallpox. It occurs because the residual toxins from smallpox are not yet exhausted, compounded by indulgent diet and external contraction of wind-cold, leading to rashes all over the body that are red and itchy. Initially resembling millet grains, they gradually merge into cloud-like patches. It is appropriate to use Jia Wei Xiao Du Yin (Modified Detoxification Decoction) to disperse wind and clear heat, at which point the rash will heal.
Jia Wei Xiao San Formula Composition: Jingjie (Schizonepetae Spica), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Nianzi (Vaccariae Semen or Psoraleae Fructus, retained as original), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Chishao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Shanzha (Crataegi Fructus), Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus).
Yin Zhen (Urticaria/Hives): This is caused by Heart fire scorching Lung metal, combined with external contraction of wind-dampness. Upon eruption, there is necessarily intense itching, the color is red, and it appears faintly within the skin, hence the name Yin Zhen. First, use Jia Wei Qiang Huo San (Modified Notopterygii Decoction) to disperse wind and scatter dampness; subsequently, use Jia Wei Xiao Du Yin (Modified Detoxification Decoction) to clear heat and detoxify. When both exterior and interior are cleared, the rash will heal.
Jia Wei Qiang Huo San Formula Composition: Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Qianhu (Peucedani Radix), Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Chantui (Cicadae Periostracum), Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Chiling (Poria Cocos with Red Cortex).

Gui Xiong (Turtle Chest/Pigeon Breast): This is caused by residual toxins from measles remaining in the Lung meridian, steamed and scorched by Yang fire. Treatment should focus on clearing the lungs, resolving phlegm, and descending fire. First, use Qing Qi Hua Du Yin (Clear Qi and Transform Toxin Decoction) or Liang Ge San (Cool the Diaphragm Powder), adding Suzi (Perillae Fructus), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus), Juhong (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Rubrum), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Tuber), Lingyangjiao (Saigae Tataricae Cornu), Digupi (Lycii Cortex), Tinglizi (Descurainiae Semen seu Lepidii Semen), and Pipaye (Loquat Leaf) etc., to open and guide the qi. Subsequently, treat with Jiu Wei Ping Xiong Wan (Nine-Ingredient Leveling Chest Pill).
