Qi stagnation leads to heat in the vessels and rotting of flesh, which is termed carbuncle with pus. (Stagnant Qi transforms into heat, consuming bone and breaking skin; remaining in the joints and gathering at the Couli (interstices), it forms carbuncles and ulcers, eventually leading to collapse and death. Ping An: In *Su Wen*, "Da" (large) is written as "Rou" (flesh), and "Cou" is written as "Cou".) Accumulation of cold qi remains, causing Ying and Wei (Nutritive and Defensive Qi) to fail to reside normally; muscles contract, sinews cramp, and extension is occasionally impossible. Internally, this manifests as Bone Bi (Bone Obstruction); externally, as numbness and insensitivity. (The following discusses how cold qi accumulating in Xigu (valleys between muscles) and Gouxu (channels) causes Bi syndrome and numbness. Ping An: "Se Rou" (blocked flesh) in *Su Wen* is written as "Juan Rou" (contracted flesh); Xin Zheng Jiao states that Quan Qiyuan's original text was "Han Rou" (cold flesh). Yuan edition mistakenly wrote "Han Nei". "Shi Bu De Shen" (occasionally cannot extend) in *Su Wen* is written as "Lei Zhou" (ribs and elbows).) This condition is named deficiency, caused by severe cold qi remaining in the Xigu. (Cold qi accumulation causing Bi and numbness is named Yang Qi deficiency, due to severe cold qi remaining in the Xigu and Gouxu.) There are 365 Xigu meeting points, corresponding to the days of a year. (Between the large and small muscles of the human body, there are 365 meeting points. Ping An: In *Su Wen*, the character "Xue" (acupoint) appears before "Hui" (meeting).) Minor Bi syndromes with overflowing pathogenic factors move back and forth along the vessels; micro-needles can address them, consistent with the therapeutic principles. (Cold-dampness qi enters the Couli, forming minor Bi; overflowing into the vessels, it moves up and down along the channels causing pain. Using small needles correspondingly is appropriate. Ping An: "Xiang Si" should be "Xiang Si" (corresponding) according to the note; *Su Wen* writes "Xiang Tong". The note's "Han Shi" (cold-damp) is written as "Han Re" (cold-heat) in the Yuan edition.) Huang Di said: Excellent. He then dismissed those around him, bowed twice, and rose, saying: Today, my ignorance has been enlightened and doubts resolved. I will store this in the Golden Casket and dare not reveal it again. Thus, it was stored in the Chamber of Gold and Orchids, titled: Locations of Qi Acupoints. (The Emperor, respecting the Dao and valuing virtue, showed humility and respect. The Chamber of Gold and Orchids is a library for storing books.) Qi Bo said: Regarding the collateral vessels branching from the main channels, those with abundant blood that require draining number 365. They all pour into the collaterals and transmit to the Twelve Collateral Vessels, not just the Fourteen Collateral Vessels. (This lists the number of Sunluo (branching collateral) vessels that can be drained into the major collaterals, pouring into the Luo vessels of the Twelve Skin Regions. The Twelve Branching Collaterals, plus the Ren and Du vessels, constitute the Fourteen Collaterals. The Great Collateral of the Spleen originates from the Spleen itself, not starting from a channel, so it is not included in the count. It means the various Sunluo transmit to the Twelve Collaterals, not merely to the Fourteen Collaterals. Ping An: "Bing Zhu Yu Shi'er Pibu Luo Ye" in Yuan edition is written as "Bing Zhu Pibu Shi'er Luo Ye".) Internal resolution and drainage within the Zang organs involve ten vessels. (Jie means separate. The separately running collateral vessels internally drain ten vessels. Ten vessels refer to the pulses of the Five Zang organs; considering both left and right sides together, there are ten.)
