Zhaohai (KI6) is located below the medial malleolus, and Yangqiao (BL62) originates at Shenmai (BL62) below the lateral malleolus. Zhaohai and Shenmai are one acupoint on each side, totaling four acupoints.
The areas of the fish borders on the hands and feet are where the qi of the meridians emanates, totaling three hundred and sixty-five acupoints.
This section cites the meridians of the hand and foot fish borders to clarify that the hand fish border belongs to the Hand Taiyin Meridian, and the foot fish border belongs to the Foot Taiyin Meridian. The qi of the three hundred and sixty-five acupoints throughout the body is governed by the Hand and Foot Taiyin Meridians. Behind the thumb of the hand, where the white flesh protrudes like a fish belly, lies the Yuji (LU10) acupoint. The term "fish borders of the hands and feet" refers to the fact that behind the big toe of the foot, there is also protruding white flesh, which can all be called fish borders. There are four fish border acupoints in total for the hands and feet. The qi of the hand meridians is governed by the Yuji acupoint of the Hand Taiyin Meridian; the qi of the foot meridians is governed by the Yuji acupoint of the Foot Taiyin Meridian. Therefore, the acupoints where the qi of the fish borders of the hands and feet emanates, totaling three hundred and sixty-five, serve to illustrate that the Qi of the Three Yang and Three Yin meridians of the hands and feet, as well as the meridian qi throughout the body, are all governed by the Hand and Foot Taiyin Meridians. This paragraph cites the Du Meridian (Governing Vessel), Ren Meridian (Conception Vessel), Chong Meridian (Penetrating Vessel), and the Yin-Yang meridians of the hands and feet, combining to form three hundred and sixty-five acupoints, which are collectively governed by the Qi-Fu (Storehouses of Qi) of the physical body. According to this chapter, regarding the acupoints where meridian qi emanates: the Three Yang meridians of the hands and feet account for two hundred and ninety-six acupoints, and from the Du Meridian to the fish borders account for ninety acupoints, totaling three hundred and eighty-six acupoints. Excluding eight acupoints on the Du Meridian from the hairline posteriorly to Naohu (GV17), Jiangjian (GV18), Houding (GV19), Baihui (GV20), Qianding (GV21), Xinhui (GV22), Shangxing (GV23), and Shenting (GV24), which overlap with the Taiyang Meridian; five acupoints on each side of the Foot Shaoyang Meridian directly above the hairline entering the scalp, among which Zhengying (GB17), Chengling (GB19), and Naokong (GB20) on both sides, totaling six acupoints, also overlap with the Taiyang Meridian; additionally, Daying (ST5) and Gukong (ST5, likely referring to specific points or duplicates) on the Hand and Foot Yangming Meridians, Ju (likely a typo in original text, possibly referring to a point near the nose/cheek) on the Hand Shaoyang and Hand Taiyang Meridians, Henggu (KI11) on the Chong and Ren Meridians, and Lianquan (CV23) at the center of the tongue base and throat on the Foot Shaoyin Meridian. After excluding these twenty-one overlapping acupoints, exactly three hundred and sixty-five acupoints remain, corresponding to the number of days in a year. The upper compilation combined overlapping acupoints to reach three hundred and sixty-six, while this chapter excludes overlapping acupoints to reach three hundred and sixty-five. This is how it continues from the upper compilation and supplements its未尽 (unfinished/incomplete) meaning.
