The Spleen disseminates the Qi and luster of all things, thereby nourishing the various Zang-Fu organs. When the True Qi is robust, it can rot and cook (digest) food and drink, disseminate their essence to the Zang-Fu organs, thereby nourishing Ying (Nutritive) and Wei (Defensive) Qi, and filling the muscles and sinews.
