First, use Shengjiang Dan (Ascending-Descending Elixir). Enlarge the ulcerated wound slightly. Then, take a small amount of fresh Bi Bai Ye (Platycladi Cacumen, 侧柏嫩叶), pound it into a paste, add a little red sugar, mix evenly, and form a pill the size of a soybean. Each...

A certain woman suffered from prolapse of both breasts after childbirth, extending below the lower abdomen, thin like ox tendons, with extreme pain. She immediately summoned the newly arrived physician Wang Mingnian for diagnosis and treatment. He used:
Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, 熟地黄) [Note: Text says "Sheng Di" but context implies nourishing blood/yin, however strictly translating text: Sheng Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix, 生地黄)] Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 当归) Chi Shao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra, 赤芍) (each 2 qian) Jin Yin Hua (Lonicerae Japonicae Flos, 金银花) Jing Jie Sui (Schizonepetae Spica, 荆芥穗) Hong Hua (Carthami Flos, 红花) Tao Ren (Persicae Semen, 桃仁) (each 1 qian) Sheng Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 生甘草) (5 fen)
Take two teacups of water to decoct these herbs until one teacup remains. Take about 2-3 cun of the infant's umbilical cord, roast over charcoal fire until dry, grind into powder, mix into the medicine, and have the infant take it several times...
The syndrome of Slow Convulsion (Man Jing Feng, 慢惊风) is most often caused by vomiting and diarrhea in infants. It may also result from chronic malaria or dysentery, or following smallpox or chickenpox, or due to wind-cold and food stagnation, or from excessive use of purgatives...

Excess pathogen.
Supplementing Earth (Spleen/Stomach) is how one counters Wood (Liver). Treating the root is treating the branch. Whenever an infant suffers from alternating vomiting and diarrhea, it is a critical condition. If it persists repeatedly, regardless of whether it follows smallpox, chickenpox, or other illnesses, or whatever the cause, one must urgently use Ren Shen (Ginseng) and Bai Zhu (Atractylodes) to save the Stomach Qi. Not only should Food Injury be treated this way, but also Cold Damage (Shang Han, 伤寒) and Summerheat Injury (Shang Shu, 伤暑). For although there were initially cold or summerheat excess pathogens, once vomiting and diarrhea occur, they are already completely eliminated. The Spleen and Stomach become empty, and the granaries depleted. If not urgently rescued, it is feared that deficiency phlegm will surge upward, and life will be in peril within moments. Quack physicians seeing this all mistakenly point to heat or food retention, administering cooling medicines to clear fire and remove accumulation, leading to immediate deterioration. What can be done? Thus, crowds rise up and clamor: "Slow convulsion is inherently an untreatable syndrome." To treat a slow syndrome as an acute one, how could death not follow? Now that slow convulsion is considered untreatable, why not investigate this principle? Rather than failing by using cold and cool remedies, making survival extremely difficult, it is better to fail by using warm and tonifying remedies, which still allows for rescue. This discussion clarifies the principles of vomiting, diarrhea, and convulsive wind, being extremely clear and easy to distinguish. Future scholars, list each item and examine them carefully. If several points match, rescue immediately. Do not allow any further delay, causing helplessness. Now, the differentiation of symptoms for slow convulsion is listed below.
One: Slow convulsion with vomiting and diarrhea is due to Deficiency-Cold of the Spleen and Stomach.
One: Slow convulsion with cold body is due to Yang Qi being suppressed and unable to emerge.
One: Slow convulsion with flaring nostrils is due to True Yin losing its hold and deficient fire scorching the Lungs.
One: Slow convulsion with bluish-yellow or white facial color indicates dual deficiency of Qi and Blood.
One: Slow convulsion with clear urine and white stool indicates no fire in the Kidneys and Large Intestine.
One: Slow convulsion with drowsiness and exposed eyes indicates insufficiency of Spirit Qi.
One: Slow convulsion with twitching of hands and feet indicates Blood not flowing to the four limbs.
One: Slow convulsion with opisthotonos (back arching backward) indicates Blood deficiency and tendon tension.
One: Slow convulsion with alternating hot and cold sensations indicates insufficient Yin-Blood and disorder of Yin and Yang.
One: Slow convulsion with profuse sweating like washing indicates Yang deficiency and insecure exterior.
One: Slow convulsion with twitching of hands and feet indicates Blood insufficient to nourish the tendons.
One: Slow convulsion with sunken fontanelle indicates extremity of deficiency.
One: Slow convulsion with body fever, cracked bleeding lips, yet no desire to drink cool tea/water, and vomited milk or excreted matter not well digested.
Generally, infants suffering from persistent fever and excessive vomiting/diarrhea all belong to Yin deficiency and Yang floating. One must prevent the formation of slow convulsion. This differs from catching wind-cold...

Now, two experienced formulas are listed below.
