Xia gan (chancre of the glans penis) refers to a condition characterized by swelling, pain, and ulceration at the head of the penis. (This disease is primarily associated with the Jueyin Liver Meridian. The following prescription is suitable:) Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Du huo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix) (each 6 fen); Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus), Jingjie (Schizonepetae Herba), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma), Zhi mu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma) (each 7 fen); Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex), Chishao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Chi fuling (Poria with Red Core), Mutong (Akebiae Caulis), Longdancao (Gentianae Radix) (each 9 fen); Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix) (1.5 qian); Gancao shao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma tip) (3 fen). The above herbs are coarsely crushed for one dose, combined with 24 stalks of Dengcao (Junci Medulla), decocted in water, and taken hot on an empty stomach. If Bian du (bubonic abscess/inguinal lymphadenitis) is present, adjust the dosage based on the patient's deficiency or excess condition, adding Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) by 1-2 qian.
Liangxue Jiedu Wan (Cooling Blood and Detoxifying Pill): First administer Shengma Gegen Tang (Ephedra and Pueraria Decoction) to vent the toxin. After the toxin is expelled, taking this pill will lead to recovery. There is no need to use Qinfen (Calomel/mercurous chloride). Kushen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix) (8 liang); Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) (4 liang); Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus), Niubangzi (Arctii Fructus), Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix) (each 2 liang); Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) (each 1 liang); Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) (2.5 liang). The above are ground into fine powder, mixed with a paste made from Jingjie (Schizonepetae Herba) decoction and flour, and formed into pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take 100 pills per dose, swallowed with warm water on an empty stomach.
External treatments for Xia gan:
Zhenzhu San (Pearl Powder): Highly effective for treating chancre ulcers. Kubai fan (Alumen Exsiccatum), Xionghuang (Realgar), Zhenzhu (Margarita), Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex), Guanfen (Lead White, processed by levigation) (equal parts). Grind all ingredients into fine powder. Wash the ulcer thoroughly with Mi tan shui (rice washing water), dry it, and then apply the powder.
Treatment for Gan chuang (chancre ulcer):
Woniu (Helix Aspersa/Mulberry Snail, dried by roasting) (1 qian); Kubai fan (Alumen Exsiccatum) (1 qian). Grind into extremely fine powder. If the wound is moist, sprinkle the powder directly; if dry, mix with Sesame Oil (Xiangyou) and apply. This leads to immediate healing.
Treatment for Xia gan (including erosion of the penis and testicles; even if the tongue has been bitten off, application of this medicine results in complete regeneration, as if newly grown.) Melt 5 qian of Heiqian (Black Lead) and immediately add 2.5 qian of Gong (Mercury), grinding until no mercury stars remain. Add Hanshui shi (Halloysitum), 3.5 qian; Zhen qinfen (Calomel), 2.5 qian; Haopengsha (Borax), 1 qian. Grind all together into an extremely fine powder for use. When encountering this condition, wash the affected area with a decoction of Congbai (Scallion Stem), Aiyeh (Artemisiae Argyi Folium), and Huajiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium). If washing is painful, pour the hot decoction into a bottle and fumigate the glans penis over the bottle mouth. Once pain subsides, wash, dry, and apply this powder. For treatment of a bitten-off tongue, first hold a decoction of Ruxiang (Olibanum) and Moyao (Myrrhae Resina) in the mouth to stop pain, then apply the powder to promote regrowth.
Xi gan Tang (Washing Decoction for Chancre):
Chuanlianzi (Toosendan Fructus), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Wasong (Parmelia Soredians), Huajiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium), Aiyeh (Artemisiae Argyi Folium), Conggen (Allii Fistulosi Radix). Coarsely crush equal parts of each herb, decoct in water, and pour into a basin. Use a blue cloth soaked in the liquid to wash the ulcer; effect is immediate.
Treatment for Xia gan:
Use 1 bowl of Pixiao (Mirabilite), 5 fen of Ruxiang (Olibanum), 5 fen of Xionghuang (Realgar), and 5 fen of Haiercha (Camellia Sinensis var. assamica tea leaves, processed). Place in a small jar. Heat the jar externally using fire fueled by dry cow dung until the Mirabilite melts. Fumigate the affected area with the vapors until the chest feels cool at night.
Xia gan Fang (Prescription for Chancre):
Lightly roast eggshells from hens that have brooded chicks, grind into powder. Mix 1 qian of this powder with 1 qian of Haiercha (Processed Tea Leaf) powder. Cleanse the area with tea water first, then apply the medication.
