Treats foxy odor (axillary osmidrosis) that is pungent and unbearable for others to approach.
One large spider (wrapped in a paste made of yellow clay mixed with a small amount of red halloysite, pounded into an extremely fine powder, with a little salt added, and kneaded; the spider is placed inside this mixture, which is then fired near a flame until it turns completely red, allowed to cool, and then cracked open).
The above single ingredient is ground into a fine powder. Before going to bed, add one "yi" (a traditional Chinese unit of weight/volume, approx. 0.5-1g) of calomel (mercurous chloride), mix with strong vinegar to form a paste, and apply to the axilla. The next morning during defecation, black fluid will inevitably be discharged, emitting a foul and unbearable odor. Dispose of it in a remote place and bury it to prevent spreading the odor. This method is miraculous.
Treats "leaking armpits" (chronic moisture/sweating in the axillae, soles of feet, palms, genital area, and inner thighs that constantly wet and soil clothing).
Dried Lycium root bark (Gouqigen), dried Rosa multiflora root bark (Qiangweigen), Glycyrrhiza uralensis root (Gancao) (each 0.5 liang); Hu Fen (lead carbonate), Phytolacca acinosa root (Shanglugen), Talcum (Huashi) (each 1 fen).
Process and sieve the above ingredients. Mix with a small amount of bitter wine (vinegar) and apply topically. Mild sweating should occur; change clothes and reapply. It will heal in no more than three applications; if it recurs after a year, apply again.
The head is the convergence point of all Yang meridians. The Upper Dantian resides in the Niwang Palace (the brain), where the hundred spirits gather. In cases of headache, the disease originates in the Foot Taiyang meridian, with pain radiating upward to the Fengfu point and the corner of the eyebrows; these can be cured with medicine. However, if pathogenic factors penetrate through the Fengfu point and sink into the Niwang Palace causing pain, this is called "True Headache," which cannot be cured by medicine. Death occurs from evening to morning or from morning to evening, due to the prior exhaustion of the Root Qi. Investigating the etiology, pain may result from wind, cold, summerheat, or dampness invading; from rebellion of Qi and Blood or dietary stagnation; or from depression and rebellion of Qi in the Five Zang organs. The treatment principle requires first examining the Three Causes (internal, external, and non-internal/external). Once the Three Causes are clarified, the therapeutic measures will invariably hit the mark.
Treats headaches severe as if breaking, caused by injury to wind-cold and raw/cold foods, as well as Qi deficiency and Phlegm-rebellion; accompanied by vertigo resembling falling and irregular vomiting.
Aconitum carmichaelii lateral root (Fuzi, raw, peeled and navel removed), Aconitum kusnezoffii root (Wutou, raw, peeled and tip removed), Pinellia ternata rhizome (Tiannanxing), Zingiber officinale rhizome dried (Ganjiang), Glycyrrhiza uralensis root (Gancao, honey-fried), Ligusticum chuanxiong rhizome (Chuanxiong), Asarum heterotropoides root (Xixin) (all in equal proportions).
Grind the above into a coarse powder. For each dose, take four "da qian" (approx. 12-15g), with two cups of water, five slices of fresh ginger, and a few tea buds. Decoct until reduced to 70%, strain, and administer after meals.
Treats headaches caused by wind invasion complicated by phlegm-fluid retention rebelling upward, including lateral headaches, frontal headaches, and various wind pathogens affecting the brain.
Agastache rugosa herb (Huoxiang, 0.5 liang), Aconitum carmichaelii lateral root (Chuan Wutou, soaked in boiling water seven times, peeled and tip removed, 1 liang), Boswellia carterii gum resin (Ruxiang, size equivalent to three Gleditsia sinensis pods), Aconitum kusnezoffii root (Caowutou, processed, peeled and tip removed, 0.5 liang).
Grind the above into a powder. For each dose, take one "yi" (approx. 0.5-1g), taken down with clear mint tea infusion, administered after meals.
