治咳中有血，虚劳肺痿。
人参（一钱） 紫菀（五分） 知母（去毛，炒一钱半） 贝母（去心，一钱半） 桔
梗（一钱） 甘
水煎服，渣再煎。
治肺痿咳嗽，唾痰腥臭，咽干多渴，大小便赤涩。其证口中辟辟燥咳，胸中隐
隐微痛，脉反滑数实者，此为肺痈也。
桔梗 贝母 当归 栝蒌仁 枳壳（炒） 桑白皮（蜜水炙） 薏苡仁 防己（各一两）
甘草（生） 杏仁（炒） 百合（焙，各半两） 黄 （炙，五钱）
上每服五钱，生姜三片，水煎服。如大便秘加大黄，小便涩加木通，血加阿胶、紫菀、
去杏仁。
治肺感寒邪，咳嗽声重，胸膈烦闷，头目昏眩。

Treats coughing with blood, and consumptive lung atrophy (Xu Lao Fei Wei).
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) (1 qian), Zi Wan (Asteris Radix) (5 fen), Zhi Mu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma) (deprived of hairs, stir-fried, 1.5 qian), Bei Mu (Fritillariae Bulbus) (deprived of heart, 1.5 qian), Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix) (1 qian), Gan Cao (Licorice Root) [dose implied or missing in source text], decocted in water and taken orally; the dregs are decocted again for a second dose.
Treats cough caused by lung atrophy (Fei Wei), expectoration of sputum with a fishy and foul odor, dry throat with excessive thirst, and red, turbid, and difficult urination and defecation. If the symptoms include a sensation of dryness and heat in the mouth, severe coughing, slight hidden pain in the chest, and a pulse that is slippery, rapid, and full, this indicates Lung Abscess (Fei Yong).
Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix), Bei Mu (Fritillariae Bulbus), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Gua Lou Ren (Trichosanthis Semen), Zhi Ke (Aurantii Fructus), Sang Bai Pi (Mori Cortex), Yi Yi Ren (Coicis Semen), Fang Ji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix) (each 1 liang), Gan Cao (Licorice Root, raw), Xing Ren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum, stir-fried), Bai He (Lilii Bulbus, baked, each 0.5 liang), Huang Qi (Astragali Radix, honey-fried, 5 qian).
Take 5 qian of the above herbs per dose, add 3 slices of fresh ginger, decoct in water, and take orally. If constipation occurs, add Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma); if dysuria occurs, add Mu Tong (Akebiae Caulis); if bleeding occurs, add E Jiao (Colla Corii Asini) and Zi Wan (Asteris Radix), and remove Xing Ren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum).
Treats lung infection by cold pathogen, characterized by heavy-sounding cough, oppression and irritability in the chest and diaphragm, and dizziness of the head and eyes.
Zi Su Zi (Perillae Fructus), Chi Fu Ling (Poria with Red Host), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Sang Bai Pi (Mori Cortex), Xing Ren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum, deprived of skin and tip, separately ground), Ma Huang (Ephedrae Herba) (each 1 liang), Gan Cao (Licorice Root) (5 qian). Decoct in water and take orally.
Treats heat in the upper jiao (Upper Burner), characterized by heavy-sounding cough; particularly suitable for use in spring and autumn months. (See the section on Cold Damage/Shang Han).
Treats common cold due to cold pathogen, nasal congestion with heavy voice, and persistent cough. Also treats wind invasion of the Lung meridian, causing dizziness and headache, heavy-sounding cough, and thick, sticky nasal discharge and saliva. Furthermore, it treats epidemic cold pathogens, presenting with high fever, aversion to wind, headache, and body ache.

If accompanied by sore throat, add a small amount of Xiao Ming Fan (Natrii Sulfas) after the decoction is cooked, just before taking. Add 3 slices of fresh ginger, decoct in water, and take orally.
Alternative prescription: Remove Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix) and Jing Jie Sui (Schizonepetae Spica), add Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) and Zhi Shi (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus).
