To treat cold pathogenic factors invading the interior due to sexual exhaustion, manifesting as a bluish complexion, abdominal pain, deep and faint pulse in all six positions, without headache or high fever, this formula is appropriate. If it is Yang Jue (Cold Extremities due to Yang Deficiency) accompanied by Yang syndrome mimicking Yin syndrome, misusing this will inevitably lead to death; exercise extreme caution.
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, de-gorged, 2.5 qian), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma, soil-fried, 2 qian), Gan Cao (Licorice Root, honey-fried, 1 qian), Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma, chopped, 2 qian), Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Preparata, raw, 2 qian).
Double the amount of Gan Cao and remove Ren Shen and Bai Zhu; this is named Si Ni Tang (Four Reversal Decoction). Add Chuan Wu (Aconiti Carmerhanensis Radix) and Lu Rong (Cervi Cornu Pantotrichum, each 1.5 qian); this is named San Jian Tang (Three Establishments Decoction). In cases of diagnostic uncertainty, only moxibustion combined with hot salt compresses should be used, which is very safe. Take the above herbs with one and a half zhong of water and five slices of Sheng Jiang (Fresh Ginger), decoct to seven-tenths, and take warm.
There are also cases presenting with headache, fever, chest fullness, and vomiting, commonly referred to as "Jia Shi Shang Han" (Cold Damage with Food Stagnation). The pulses at both Cun (Inch) positions are wiry and tight, while the Right Guan (Bar) position is surging or deep and soft; these belong to this category and should be treated separately, not confused. Drinking alcohol damages formless Qi, whereas food injury damages formed Blood.
To treat excessive consumption of cold water damaging the Spleen and Stomach, or excessive alcohol consumption damaging Qi.

Take the above herbs with one and a half zhong of water, decoct to seven-tenths, take warm to induce slight sweating. This treats mild cases of fluid retention injury. If the condition is severe, with water accumulation causing distension and fullness, remove Gan Cao from the base formula and add Da Ji (Euphorbiae Pekinensis Radix, boiled three times in flowing water, skin removed, dried, 0.7 qian), Yuan Hua (Genkwa Flos, vinegar-soaked and fried dry), Gan Sui (Kansui Radix, flour-wrapped and roasted, core removed, each 0.8 qian), Hei Qian Niu (Pharbitidis Semen, powdered, 2 qian), Bing Lang (Arecae Semen, 1 qian).
Take the above herbs with two zhong of water, decoct to one zhong, take on an empty stomach. Recovery occurs when the accumulated water is purged.
To treat injury to the Taiyin and Jueyin meridians caused by overeating cold, hard foods, or raw fruits and vegetables, manifesting as vomiting, epigastric fullness, borborygmus, abdominal pain, and anorexia. This treats mild cases of food stagnation.
