Select cows aged between three and seven years old with pure yellow hair as superior grade; other colors are inferior grade. The milk should usually be consumed by the calves. If the calves do not drink it, the milk may disturb Qi and is unsuitable for human consumption. Avoid garlic, pork, fish, raw/cold foods, and stale/rancid foods. Keep the milking cows clean; washing, brushing, drinking, and feeding must follow proper procedures, requiring careful attention.
