The needle methods of Huangdi and Qibo, based on clear statements in other classics, explain the Twelve Meridians of Yin and Yang (Taiyin, Shaoyin, Jueyin, Taiyang, Shaoyang, Yangming), as well as two additional meridians divided into Eight Extraordinary Vessels. The annotations of *Lingguang Fu* (Spiritual Light Ode) are extremely profound: for lateral or frontal headache (pianzheng tou teng), drain Lieque (LI15); for eye diseases, treat with Jingming (BL1); for ptosis, deafness, and Qi stagnation palpitations (qi pi), use Tinghui (GB2); for epistaxis, needle Heliao (SI19); for nasal congestion and loss of smell, use Yingxiang (LI20). For rebellious Qi ascending, use Zusanli (ST36), Tiantu (CV22), Wanzhong; for heart pain and hand tremors, needle Shaohai (HT3) and Shaoze (SI1); to eliminate cold below the heart, seek Yinshi (ST32) for spasms in both legs; for five types of lower back pain, stabilize with Weizhong (BL40); if Pishu (BL20) is ineffective for diarrhea, use Qiuxu (GB40); Fuliu (KI7) treats edema miraculously; Dubi (ST35) treats wind pathogens, phlegm-induced asthma, and foot pain; Kunlun (BL60) cures post-recovery headaches; consult Chengshan (BL57) for muscle cramps and chronic hemorrhoids; seek Yongquan (KI1) below the sole. This method is worth a thousand gold and should not be transmitted recklessly. These points often treat women's diseases, curing pain from male gu poisoning and female pregnancy complications. Baihui (GV20) [Jiuwei (CV15) treats dysentery], Dachangshu (BL25) and Xiaochangshu (BL27) treat bowel and bladder issues; Qihai (CV6) and Xuehai (SP10) treat five types of stranguria (wulin). Zhongwan (CV12) and Xiawan (CV10) treat abdominal hardness; for typhoid fever after menstruation, use Qimen (LR14); for Qi stabbing both breasts, rely on Taichuan (LU9) and Dadun (LR1) for inguinal hernia. Shuigou (GV26) and Jianshi (PC5) treat pathogenic madness and hematemesis; tonify Chize (LU5) to calm asthma; tonify Dicang (ST4) to stop drooling; Laogong (PC8) treats physical fatigue; Waterfen (CV9) resolves edema over time; for inability to extend fingers, take Zhongzhu (TE3); Jiache (ST6) needles cure toothaches. Yinqiao and Yangqiao vessels are at the ankles; four points for Hongjiao (lower limb swelling/pain) are first sought, including Yinlingquan (SP9) and Yanglingquan (GB34). Yinqiao and Yangqiao, along with Zusanli and other points, generally treat Hongjiao. In the waist, the mystery lies in correctly selecting Gāohuáng (BL43); moxibustion here cures myriad diseases. One point can treat multiple diseases; students must be meticulous and comprehend the flow-and-rotation methods from enlightened masters. Head and eye ailments are treated by needling the limbs; needling requires understanding tonification and sedation through respiration; acupoints correspond to the Five Elements and follow the Four Seasons, revealing the creation within the human body. This song serves merely as a tool (like a fish trap) to grasp the meaning.
Regarding the methods of "Dan" (supporting) and "Jie" (intercepting), how many are there? With Dan and Jie, deep and shallow conditions arise. I compose this *Lanjiang Fu* (River Intercepting Ode); why use lengthy songs? First, establish the Eight Method principles as examples, dividing the sequence within flow-and-rotation. For chest and heart diseases, Neiguan (PC6) supports; for below the umbilicus, Gongson (SP4) is used for support. For head disorders, seek Lieque (LU7); for phlegm-fluid obstruction, dry throat, locked jaw, and throat wind, needle Zhaohai (KI6). Pricking three collaterals brings immediate relief; for eye diseases and various afflictions, use Linqi (GB41) for support. Houxi (SI3) specifically treats Du Mai (Governing Vessel) diseases; this method lightens mania and epilepsy. Shenmai (BL62) eliminates cold and heat, lateral or frontal headache, palpitations, tinnitus, epistaxis, and chest fullness; fine gold needles are effective. When seeking these points, if itching and numbness indicate deficiency, tonify; if pain indicates excess, sedate and welcome. There is also a true secret for treating Shanghan (Cold Damage): Yin meridians must face Yang meridians. If there is no sweat, tonify Hegu (LI4); if sweating is excessive and unceasing, tonify Hegu for miraculous effect. On the fourth day, carefully differentiate Taiyang stage; Gongson and Zhaohai are applied similarly. Then apply Jie method with Neiguan (PC6); on the seventh day, Qimen (LR14) can be needled. All treatments for Shanghan use sedation; understand the *Suwen* clearly. Within flow-and-rotation, the eight creations balance water, fire, earth, metal, and wood. In spring and summer, Jing-River points should be pricked shallowly; in autumn and winter, Jing-He points require deeper insertion. Heaven, Earth, and the Four Seasons share this number; the Three Powers are commonly recorded for chest and heart. Heaven, Earth, and Human sections enter sequentially, regulating each section uniformly. If the wife is weak and husband strong, there is overcoming; if wife is strong and husband weak, there is punishment; all depend on the primary meridian's Dan and Jie. Sedating South and tonifying North must also be distinguished. When meridians are clear, one knows creation. Without a master's transmission, effort is vain; without meeting the perfect person, heavenly treasures should not be given, nor entrusted to the unworthy. Stabilize Qi and Blood while the patient calls out; rub heavily dozens of times, hold the needle firmly, lift and shake upward to make Qi flow naturally, and the disease will vanish.
