Moxibustion and Acupuncture, see previous section on Moxibustion and Acupuncture for Vomiting.
[Mai Jing] Yang pulse tight and Yin pulse rapid, the person vomits immediately after eating; Yang pulse floating and rapid also indicates vomiting. Cun (Inch) pulse tight and Chi (Cubit) pulse choppy, the person has chest fullness, cannot eat and vomits. Cun Kou (Radial Artery) pulse rapid,
the person will vomit. Cun Kou pulse thin and rapid, rapid indicates Heat, thin indicates Cold, rapid indicates vomiting.
[Zhang Zhongjing] Question: The patient has a rapid pulse. Rapid indicates Heat, so one should digest grain and seek food, yet instead vomits. Why? Master says: Because sweating was induced, causing Yang to become weak, Ge Qi (Diaphragm Qi) to become deficient, thus the pulse is rapid. Rapid here indicates Guest Heat, which cannot digest grain. The Stomach is cold and deficient, hence vomiting.
