Translation: The condition of inverted eyelashes and curled hairs involves the lashes turning inward to pierce the eyeball. The skin of the eyelids is loose, while the orbital area feels tight, accompanied by itching and pain. There is a gritty sensation making it difficult to open the eyes, and the eyelids are red and ulcerated. This is caused by the simultaneous stagnation of Liver Wind and Spleen Heat. The treatment utilizes Xixin Tang (Asarum Decoction), which contains Zhi Mu (Rhizoma Anemarrhenae), Chong Wei Zi (Fructus Echinospermi), Hei Shen (Radix Scrophulariae, also known as Xuan Shen), Jun Zi (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei), Xi Xin (Herba Asari), Fang Feng (Radix Saposhnikoviae), Jie Geng (Radix Platycodonis), and Ling Yang Jiao (Cornu Saigae Tataricae).
Formula: Xixin Tang (Asarum Decoction)
Zhi Mu (Rhizoma Anemarrhenae) 2 qian, Chong Wei Zi (Fructus Echinospermi) 2 qian, Hei Shen (Radix Scrophulariae) 1 qian, Jun Zi (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei) 1 qian, Xi Xin (Herba Asari) 1 qian, Fang Feng (Radix Saposhnikoviae) 2 qian, Jie Geng (Radix Platycodonis) 1 qian, Ling Yang Jiao (Cornu Saigae Tataricae, sliced) 1 qian.
Grind the above herbs into coarse powder. Add two cups of water and decoct until one cup remains. Strain and take warm after meals.
Annotation [1]: The condition of inverted eyelashes and curled hairs occurs because the eyelid skin is loose and the orbital area is tight, causing the lashes to turn inward and pierce the eyeball. This results in a gritty sensation, difficulty opening the eyes, redness and ulceration of the eyelids, and symptoms of both itching and pain.
Annotation [2]: This is caused by the combination of Spleen Heat and Liver Wind, which ascend and stagnate together.
Annotation [3]: It is appropriate to use Xixin Tang (Asarum Decoction) to clear pathogenic heat internally and disperse wind externally.

Translation: Floating nebula (cataract) appears white, reflecting from within the pupil. In bright light, it appears small; in dim light, it appears wide. There is no itching or pain, and no blood color mixed in. This is due to Brain Wind invading and causing abnormalities in Brain Fat. For treatment, Shijueming San (Arconcha Powder) includes Shi Jue Ming (Concha Haliotidis), Jue Ming Zi (Semen Cassiae), Ren Shen (Radix Ginseng), Fu Ling (Poria), Che Qian Zi (Semen Plantaginis), Xi Xin (Herba Asari), Fang Feng (Radix Saposhnikoviae), Jun Zi (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei), Chong Wei Zi (Fructus Echinospermi), and Jie Geng (Radix Platycodonis). For Zhu Yi Wan (Nebula-Dropping Pills), the ingredients include Shi Jue Ming (Concha Haliotidis), Zhi Mu (Rhizoma Anemarrhenae), Xi Xin (Herba Asari), Wu Wei Zi (Fructus Schisandrae), Sheng Di Huang (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata), Ren Shen (Radix Ginseng), Fang Feng (Radix Saposhnikoviae), and Tu Gan (Hepar Leporis).
Formula: Shijueming San (Arconcha Powder)
Shi Jue Ming (Concha Haliotidis) 1 qian, Ren Shen (Radix Ginseng) 1 qian, Fu Ling (Poria) 1 qian, Che Qian Zi (Semen Plantaginis) 1 qian, Xi Xin (Herba Asari) 5 fen, Fang Feng (Radix Saposhnikoviae) 2 qian, Jun Zi (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei) 1 qian, Chong Wei Zi (Fructus Echinospermi) 2 qian, Jie Geng (Radix Platycodonis) 1.5 qian.
Grind the above herbs into fine powder and mix evenly. Take 2 qian after meals, mixed with rice soup.
Floating Nebula Dropping Pill Formula (Zhu Yi Wan)
Shi Jue Ming (Concha Haliotidis) 1 liang, Zhi Mu (Rhizoma Anemarrhenae) 1 liang, Xi Xin (Herba Asari) 5 qian, Wu Wei Zi (Fructus Schisandrae) 0.5 liang, Sheng Di Huang (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata) 2 liang, Ren Shen (Radix Ginseng) 2.5 liang, Fang Feng (Radix Saposhnikoviae) 1 liang, Tu Gan (Hepar Leporis) 1 piece.
Grind the above herbs into fine powder. Use refined honey to make pills, sized like tung tree seeds. Take 3 qian on an empty stomach, washed down with clear tea.
Annotation [1]: The condition of floating nebula (cataract) initially presents without itching or pain. A white opacity reflects from within the pupil. In dim light, it appears wide; in bright light, the nebula appears slightly smaller. There is absolutely no mixing of blood color. The cause is brain qi rushing into the eye, causing brain fat to flow downward, resulting in internal cataracts. It is appropriate to take Shijueming San (Arconcha Powder) and Zhu Yi Wan (Nebula-Dropping Pills).
