Translation:
Clause: Syndrome of Internal Cataract with White Pterygium and Yellow Center, characterized by a white pterygium surrounding the periphery and a yellow center. Slight redness may be present at the inner and outer canthi. The pterygium obscures the black cornea (Heizhu), obstructing the internal luster.
Wind-heat from the Lung and Liver channels rushes upward to the eyes, causing dryness, pain, photophobia, and tearing profusely like hot water.
Treatment should employ Zhu Yi San (Pterygium-Falling Powder), comprising Shijueming (Haliotidis Concha), Chongweizi (Eryngii Fructus), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Ganjuhua (Chrysanthemi Flos), Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen), and Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix).
Formula: Zhu Yi San (Pterygium-Falling Powder)
Shijueming (Haliotidis Concha) 2 qian, Chongweizi (Eryngii Fructus) 2 qian, Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) 3 qian, Ganjuhua (Chrysanthemi Flos) 3 qian, Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen) 3 qian, Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) 2 qian.
Grind the above herbs into fine powder, mix evenly, and take 1 qian after meals, mixed with rice water.
Annotation [1]: Internal cataract with white pterygium and yellow center presents with white pterygium on all sides and a slightly yellow spot in the center, hidden within the black cornea (Heizhu), reflecting outward.
Annotation [2]: This condition arises from wind-heat invading the eyes via the Lung and Liver channels, causing frequent tearing, dryness, and pain, leading to this syndrome. It is suitable for treatment with Zhu Yi San (Pterygium-Falling Powder).
Clause: Heaven has the Sun and Moon representing Yin-Yang Jing (Essence-Qi); humans have two eyes reflecting the essence of the Zang-Fu organs. The gathering place of various essences forms the eye. The essence of flesh constitutes the upper and lower eyelids; the essence of blood resides in the canthi; the essence of Qi manifests as the white sclera; the essence of sinews forms the black cornea/iris; the essence of bone forms the pupil. The structures that constrain and wrap these essences are connected to the brain. The original origin of the eyeball must be clearly understood.
Formula: None
Annotation [1]: Heaven possesses the Sun and Moon, analogous to humans possessing two eyes.
Annotation [2]: The Sun and Moon in heaven are formed by the Yin-Yang essence of heaven.
Annotation [3]: The two eyes in humans are formed by the essence of the Five Zang and Six Fu organs ascending to the eyes.
Annotation [4]: Thus, the gathering place of various essences is called the eye. The essence of flesh constitutes the upper and lower eyelids; the essence of blood constitutes the canthi; the essence of Qi constitutes the white sclera; the essence of sinews constitutes the black cornea/iris; the essence of bone constitutes the pupil. The structures constraining and wrapping the essence of Qi, Blood, Sinews, and Bone connect superiorly to the brain.
Annotation [5]: One must not fail to understand the original origin of the eyeball.
