[Song] Bi Ni Chuang (Nasal Hidden Sore) often occurs in children, presenting as ulcerated patches on both sides below the nose. This is generally caused by Wind-Heat pathogenic factors invading the Lung Meridian, characterized by pus exudation spreading over the skin, itching without pain.
[Note] This condition mostly occurs on both sides below the nose of children, appearing as purple ulcerated patches, caused by Wind-Heat pathogenic factors lodging in the Lung Meridian. With pus exudation spreading and itching but no pain, it is suitable to take Zexie San (Alisma Powder) internally and apply Qing Ge San (Blue Clam Powder) externally for cure.
Formula: Zexie San (Alisma Powder)
Composition: Alisma Rhizoma (Zexie), Curcuma Aromatica Rhizome (Yujin), Gardeniae Fructus (Shanzhi, raw), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, raw, 1 qian each).
Grind all ingredients into powder. Take 1 qian per dose, mixed with decoction of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao).

[Song] Bi Chuang (Nasal Sore) arises from Lung Heat in the nose, presenting with dryness like fire, slight swelling, and pain. Internally take Huangqin Tang (Scutellaria Decoction) to clear heat; externally apply Huanglian Gao (Coptis Ointment) to moisten dryness and relieve pain effectively.
[Note] This condition occurs inside the nasal cavity. Initially, there is a sensation of dryness and pain, resembling millet grains. In severe cases, the external nose becomes red and slightly swollen, with pain intense as if cauterized by fire. This is due to stagnation of Heat in the Lung Meridian attacking upwards to the nasal orifice, accumulating and not dispersing, thus forming this sore. Internally, use Huangqin Tang (Scutellaria Decoction) to clear heat. Externally, use an oil-paper wick coated with Zhensha Dingtong San (Cinnabar Pain-Relieving Powder) inserted into the nasal cavity. If dryness is prominent, apply Huanglian Gao (Coptis Ointment) for immediate effect.
Formula: Huangqin Tang (Scutellaria Decoction)
Composition: Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin, wine-fried, 2 qian), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, raw, 0.5 qian), Ophiopogonis Tuber (Maidong, heart removed, 1 qian), Mori Cortex (Sangbaipi, raw, 1 qian), Gardeniae Fructus (Zhizi, with skin, wine-fried, 1.5 qian), Forsythiae Fructum (Lianqiao, heart removed), Paeoniae Radix Rubra (Chishao), Platycodonis Radix (Jiegeng), Menthae Haplocalycis Herba (Bohe), Schizonepetae Spica (Jingshesui, 1 qian each).
