Patients typically develop symptoms such as dizziness, palpitations (Xin Zhong, anxiety and palpitation), irritability, and depression immediately after finishing meals. The etiology is attributed to irregular eating habits or binge eating, causing Stomach Qi to rush upward and steam. The following prescription can be used:
Yinchen (Artemisiae Scopariae Herba) four liang, Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) two liang, Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus) seven pieces.
First, boil Yinchen in one dou of water until six sheng remain. Then, use this decoction to simmer the remaining herbs to obtain two sheng of liquid. Divide into three doses. The yellow pathogen exits via urination, and the illness is cured immediately.
Lao Dan (Labor-induced Jaundice) refers to jaundice caused by overexertion. The prescription consists of:
Kushen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix) three liang, Longdancao (Gentianae Radix) two liang, Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus) thirty-seven pieces.
Pulverize the above ingredients. Mix with pig bile to form pills the size of wutong seeds. Take five pills per dose, three to four times daily, swallowed with juice from a drink.
Patients present with yellowing of both the body and eyes, accompanied by fever, aversion to cold, fullness and urgency in the lower abdomen, and difficult urination. The etiology is excessive physical labor combined with internal heat during sexual intercourse, followed immediately by entering water for bathing. Treatment uses:
Xiaoshi (Natrii Sulfas) and Kufan (Alumen).
Pulverize these two ingredients. Mix with barley porridge juice and administer one fangcunbi (a square-inch measure) per dose, three times daily. Cover with blankets to induce sweating. The pathogen exits via stool and urine.
This condition arises from the long-term accumulation and transformation of Huang Dan (Jaundice), Jiu Dan (Alcohol-induced Jaundice), Nv Dan (Female-specific Jaundice), and Lao Dan. Patients exhibit generalized yellowing of the body, blackening of the forehead specifically, heat in the soles of the feet, and black stools. Treatment uses:
Chixiaodou (Adzuki Beans) thirty pieces, Fuling (Poria) six zhu, Gouti (Cucumeritis Fructus) four zhu, Xionghuang (Realgar) four zhu, Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) half liang (roasted), Nüwei (Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma) four zhu.
Take the above six ingredients. First, boil Chixiaodou and Fuling in three sheng of water to obtain eight he of liquid. Pulverize the latter four ingredients into powder. Mix half qianbi of this powder with the previously prepared liquid. Administer at a suitable warm temperature. Recovery should occur shortly; if vomiting ensues, recovery is accelerated.
