Whenever treating sores and ulcers, if one does not examine the deficiency or excess of Yuan Qi (Original Qi) and whether the pathogen is in the exterior or interior, and immediately administers medicines such as Baidu Liqi Yin (Flowing Qi Decoction for Resolving Toxins), it is problematic. Baidu San (Resolving Toxin Powder) is an exterior-releasing formula; if there are indeed exterior symptoms, it should only be taken one or two times. Taking too much will damage Yuan Qi, causing the toxin to become more vigorous. Even with Ren Shen (Ginseng Root), it cannot replenish effectively. Liuqi Yin (Flowing Qi Decoction) is a blood-consuming formula; if there is indeed Qi stagnation with chest fullness, it should only be taken two or three times. Taking too much will instead cause blood deterioration. Even with Chuan Xiong (Szechwan Lovage Rhizome) and Dang Gui (Chinese Angelica Root), reliance on them is difficult. Danxi said: This does not belong to the changes caused by rich food toxins, but is due to deficiency labor and Qi depression.
Shixuan San (Ten Acupoints Powder) treats sores and ulcers with a slow and choppy pulse, body fatigue, aversion to cold, or a string-tight and fine pulse; all are suitable for its use to disperse wind-cold and assist Yang Qi.

Cut into pieces. First, decoct 1 sheng of Cang Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma) in 5 sheng of water until reduced to 3 sheng. Remove Cang Zhu dregs, add the previous twelve herbs, decoct to 3-4 zhan, filter and squeeze clear juice. Divide into 3-4 doses, taken throughout the day. Also decoct the Cang Zhu dregs again, remove dregs, then decoct the dregs of the previous twelve herbs to take. This removes dampness and disperses stagnant heat, harmonizing Stomach Qi. If symptoms persist, take another half dose. If there is dry stool and vexing heat, take a small amount of Huanglian Tang. If there is mild diarrhea and heat has subsided, take half a dose of Fujian San. This ensures Ying and Wei circulate together, preventing pathogenic invasion.

The nature of Wind-Wood moves upward, causing facial color change; the person is prone to anger. The sore is red, hard-swollen, slightly dark, rising vigorously, hard and painful, with a surging, slow, and string-like pulse. Sweating should be induced to unblock Ying and Wei, thus eliminating the pathogen.
