Commentary states: When alternating chills and fever (Hanre, 寒热) invade the human body, this disease is named malaria (Nue, 疟). In cases of malaria accompanied by fever (Fare, 发热) and difficult urination (Xiaobian Buli, 小便不利), the body must turn yellow (Shen Huang, 身黄). This is due to heat pathogen forcing downward into the Small Intestine (Xiaochang, 小肠), causing the water passages to become obstructed, thus resulting in difficult urination.
