[Discussion]
All meridians converge upon the eyes; the eyes are the "storehouse" (Fu) of blood. Therefore, when a person rests, blood returns to the Liver. The Liver receives blood and thereby enables vision. When Qi and Blood are harmonious, they ascend to assist the eyes, enabling clear sight. If there is heat in the Liver, causing stagnation and dryness of the blood vessels, body fluids fail to nourish and moisten the eyes, resulting in dryness, pain, and a gritty sensation (Chen Se) in the eyes. The *Shenghui Fang* discusses that internal movement caused by grief opens the fluid pathways, leading to tearing; once these fluids become depleted, it also causes eye dryness and pain, which constitutes another syndrome pattern.
