[Dissertation] When food enters the stomach, it is transformed and transported by the Spleen. If there are already accumulations (Ji Ju) in the abdomen, and combined with improper nursing care and irregular eating habits, the Spleen and Stomach will become weaker, leading to slow digestion of food. This results in the disease of undigested retained food (Su Shi Bu Xiao). The manifestations include belching with a sour or rotten odor, and distension and fullness in the epigastrium accompanied by irritability.
To treat accumulations and undigested retained food, presenting with stagnation in the Zhongwan (CV12) region, irritability, fullness, shortness of breath, stabbing pain in the abdomen, belching, and loss of appetite, use the **Muxiang Wan** (Aucklandia Pill):
* *Muxiang Radix Aucklandiae* (Ban Liang)
* *Binglang Fructus Arecae* (Cui Yi Liang)
* *Chenju Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae* (Soaked in hot water, white pith removed, dried Ban Liang)
* *Dingxiang Flos Caryophylli* (Yi Fen)
* *Jingsanleng Rhizoma Curcumae* (Roasted Yi Liang)
* *Ganjiang Rhizoma Zingiberis* (Pao Yi Fen)
* *Peng'ezhu Rhizoma Curcumae Phaeocaulis* (Roasted Ban Liang)
* *Badou Semen Crotonis Tiglii* (Skin, core, and membrane removed, oil expressed Ban Qian)
* *Shahuang Minium* (Water-ground and powdered Ban Liang)
The above nine ingredients: except for those requiring grinding, crush and sieve into powder. Add *Badou* and *Shahuang*, grind until uniform. Use steamed dough soaked in hot water as a binder. Form pills the size of mung beans. Take 2–3 pills per dose, administered with warm ginger and tangerine peel decoction after meals.
For accumulations and undigested retained food, presenting with chest and diaphragm stuffiness, abdominal distension and pain, and inability to eat, use the **Dingxiang Wan** (Clove Pill):
* *Dingxiang Flos Caryophylli* (Yi Liang)
* *Qingju Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae Viride* (Soaked in hot water, white pith removed, dried Er Liang)
* *Guizi Cortex Cinnamomi* (Rough bark removed)
* *Ganjiang Rhizoma Zingiberis* (Pao)

* *Peng'ezhu Rhizoma Curcumae Phaeocaulis* (Roasted and crushed)
* *Jingsanleng Rhizoma Curcumae* (Roasted and crushed)
* *Ganqi Resina Toxicodendri* (Stir-fried until smoke emerges, each Er Liang)
* *Zhuyazaojia Fructus Gleditsiae Sinensis* (Roasted in lard, skin and seeds removed)
* *Muxiang Radix Aucklandiae* (Each Yi Liang)
* *Qianniu Semen Pharbitidis* (Powdered Er Liang)
* *Mo Ink Stick* (Yi Liang; twelve ingredients processed separately into fine powder)
* *Shahuang Minium* (Ground with vinegar)

Add *Badou* frost first, boil for three minutes, then add *Dahuang* powder, and simmer into a paste. Mix with the powder of the previous twelve ingredients, pound thoroughly, and form pills the size of mung beans. For routine use, take 1–2 pills, swallowed with tea or water at will. To purge accumulations, take 7 pills with ginger decoction, adjusting dosage according to the patient's strength.
For accumulations and undigested retained food that stagnate and form masses, causing heart and abdominal pain, fatigue, drowsiness, and gradual emaciation with sallow complexion, use the **Muxiang Wan** (Aucklandia Pill):

* *Peng'ezhu Rhizoma Curcumae Phaeocaulis*
* *Jingsanleng Rhizoma Curcumae* (These two roasted and crushed, each Yi Liang)
