Discussion: The condition of Ge Qi (Diaphragmatic Qi Stagnation), vomiting, regurgitation, and inability to eat or drink is caused by deficiency of Stomach Qi and invasion of Wind-Cold. Alternatively, it may result from emotional distress and anger leading to Qi stagnation that fails to diffuse and circulate freely. Consequently, this causes fullness and obstruction in the chest diaphragm and epigastrium, with Qi blockage in the chest. Even if food is taken, it cannot be swallowed; or once it enters the Stomach, it often fails to digest. If it clashes with retained fluid retention (Liu Yin), it transforms into vomiting and regurgitation.
