Discussion states: Pathogenic heat lodges within the blood vessels, while the intestines and stomach are deficient and weak. Blood follows the heat's movement, flowing and seeping into the intestinal cavity, resulting in bloody stool and dysentery; hence it is named "Blood Dysentery" (Xue Li). If the pulse appears deficient and small, prognosis is good (survival is likely); if the body is hot and the pulse is rapid and frequent, treatment is difficult.
