Treats "Zhuan Mai Lou" (Fistula with pulsating pulse), initially appearing in the neck, with a palpable pulsation resembling flowing water. The patient suffers from fright, tremors, chills, and fever. This condition arises from being startled while sleeping with an improper pillow position; the root of the disease lies in the Small Intestine. (The *Ji Yan Fang* states the root is in the Heart.) It is primarily treated with Banmao Baizhi Wan (Cantharides and Angelica Dahurica Pill), using Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix) as an adjuvant formula.
Ingredients: Banmao (Mylabris), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Lüqing (Azurite), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) [each 2 fen], Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Zhongru (Gypsum Fibrosum), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Dichan (Euphorbiae Pekinensis Radix), Xuduan (Dipsaci Radix), Shexiang (Moschus).
Process the above seventeen ingredients into fine powder, mix with honey to form pills the size of soybeans. Take ten pills with wine, twice daily. Avoid vegetables during treatment, and observe sexual abstinence for one hundred days. (The *Waitai Mi Yao* omits Dahuang from this formula.)
Formula for Nine Types of Fistulas:
Kongqing (Chrysocolla), Shanglu (Phytolaccae Radix), Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma), Li Gu (Fox Bone), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Renzi (Perilla Seed), Fanshi (Alumen), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Cihuang (Realgar), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Shiyan (Halitum), Dichan (Euphorbiae Pekinensis Radix), Banmao (Mylabris), Xionghuang (Realgar) [equal parts].
Process the above eighteen ingredients into fine powder, mix with honey to form pills the size of soybeans. Take three pills with vinegar. Improvement is seen in thirty days, cure in forty days, and full recovery in sixty days. Observe sexual abstinence for one hundred days. (Another method: grind into powder, take one Dao Gui measure with vinegar, twice daily; reduce dose for elderly and children.)
Another Formula: She Tui Pi (Ophichthys Skin), Lingli Jia (Manis Scale), Chu Ji (Bombyx Batryticatus) [each 4 pieces], He Gu (Crane Bone) [6 fen], Xi Yi (Lizard), Wu Gong (Scolopendra) [each 1 piece], Shujiao (Sichuan Pepper), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Fengfang (Vespa Nest), Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex), Diyu (Sanguisorbae Radix), Tongcao (Tetrapanacis Medulla), Ganqi (Dammar Resin), Mudanpi (Moutan Cortex), Yiyiren (Coicis Semen), Jili Zi (Tribuli Fructus), Loulu (Euphorbiae Humifusae Herba or Radix Longdan), Longdan (Gentianae Radix or Ossa Corii Asini) [each 2 fen], Banmao (Mylabris) [4 fen], Shechuangzi (Cnidii Fructus), Kushen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), She Tui Pi (Ophichthys Skin), Xionghuang (Realgar), Ruyu (Myrrha), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma).
Process the above twenty-eight ingredients into fine powder. Take half a Fen Bi measure with wine, adjusting dosage until therapeutic effect is achieved. Take once daily.
Another Formula: Banmao (Mylabris) [7 pieces], She Tui Pi (Ophichthys Skin), Zhenzhu (Pearl), Xionghuang (Realgar) [each 1 fen].
Process the above four ingredients, sieve them, and take half a Qian Bi measure with wine, three times daily.
Another Formula: Use unrefined Songzhi (Pinicola Resina) to fill the fistula opening completely. Apply three to four times daily. Cure in seven days; this method is highly effective.
Another Formula: Banmao (Mylabris) [14 pieces], Xionghuang (Realgar), Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex), Xijiao (Rhinocerotis Cornu) [each 1 liang].
Process the above four ingredients into fine powder. Take one Qian Bi measure with wine, twice daily. The pathogenic factor is expelled through urination.
Another Formula: Machixian (Portulacae Herba) [dried in shade], Layue Zhu Jin (Candle Wicks from the Twelfth Lunar Month) [equal parts].
Process the above two ingredients into fine powder. Mix with pig lard from the twelfth lunar month and apply to the wound. First, clean the area thoroughly with warm rice-washing water, dry it, then apply the medicine. Do this three times daily.
Another Formula: Ganniu Shi (Dry Cow Dung), Ganren Shi (Dry Human Feces) [equal parts].
Crush the above two ingredients. First, cover the wound with cotton cloth, then place the dung on the cloth. Worms will emerge upon smelling the odor. If itching occurs, remove the cloth. Repeat with fresh dung and cloth until all worms are expelled.
Another Formula: Ku Hu (Bitter Bottle Gourd) [four pieces, large ones like a cup]. Pierce a hole in each, about the size of a finger. Boil them in water for several boils. Take a bamboo tube, one chi long. Insert one end into the gourd hole and the other end into the fistula opening. Replace when cool.

Banmao (Mylabris) [40 pieces], Chishao (Fermented Soybean) [49 pieces], Yuanqing (Blister Beetle), Sheng Da Huang (Raw Yellow Soybean), Dichan (Euphorbiae Pekinensis Radix) [each 10 pieces], Wu Gong (Scolopendra) [1.5 cun], Xijiao (Rhinocerotis Cornu), Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis) [each the size of a jujube pit].
Process the above eight ingredients into fine powder, mix with honey to form pills the size of wutong seeds. Take two pills with water. Shortly after, drink a large amount of sour porridge, chilled. The pathogenic factor is expelled through urination. Observe the urine basin; if worm-like shapes or glue-like fluid appear, the disease is exiting. Take every other day, continue normal porridge diet. For weak patients, take every three to four days. Continue until no worms are expelled and the wound gradually heals. Strictly avoid greasy food. All utensils must be washed with ash before cooking. (Cui Shi states: For nine types of fistulas, eat little on the first night of medication. Take two pills the next morning. By the seventh day, if feeling very weak and stifled, one may cook turnip soup. Avoid all fats, acids, and fruits.)
Another Formula: Bo salt flowers. Wrap the diseased area with dough. Place the salt flowers inside the dough ring, thickness about two cun. Line the bottom with three layers of mulberry leaves to support the salt. Wait until the temperature is bearable—too cold is ineffective, too hot damages flesh. Apply once daily. Stop when the root of the scrofula subsides. If an ulcer has formed, crush grain husks into powder.
Another Formula: Take thirty jin of the white inner bark of the oak tree (Hu) from the shady side. Chop finely. Boil in one shi of water until reduced to one dou. Strain and boil down to a syrup consistency. Take fourteen male rat droppings and fourteen female rat droppings from a latrine, burn until the juice evaporates, and grind into powder. Add this powder to the syrup. Add one sheng of warm wine and stir well. Weak persons take half a sheng; worms should be expelled.
Another Formula: Pumpkin flowers collected after frost, dried and ground into powder. Apply topically.
Another Formula: Crush Tudigua (Trichosanthes cucumeroides) root and apply. Change when dry; time is not restricted.

First boil Hu Ye (Oak Leaf) in rice-washing water, take the juice to wash the wound, dry it, then insert Hu Ye Hui (Ash of Oak Leaves) into the wound.
Discussion on Treating Bee Fistula:
Initially, it resembles a peach and itches. Scratching causes it to enlarge to the size of a chicken egg, resembling an inverted hand. Iron with roasted salt for three nights. If not cured in four days, it becomes a fistula after one hundred days, large as four to five cun, deep and wide as three cun. Bees emerge from the center, numbering hundreds. Burn Liu Huang (Sulfur) with candles as needed, let the juice drip into the fistula. Within moments, dozens of bees will appear. When all bees are expelled, the condition heals.
