Heat-toxin sores and ulcers are caused by long-term consumption of rich and greasy foods, or by fire generated from emotional stagnation in nursing mothers. Treatment should focus on dispersing wind-toxin, clearing heart-fire, and resolving stomach-heat. Internal administration may include Jiawei Danggui San (Modified Angelica Sinensis Powder) and Niubangzi Tang (Arctii Fructus Decoction), while external application can utilize Sihuang San (Four Yellows Powder) and Yi Mojīn (One Stroke Gold). Additionally, washing methods appropriate for the four seasons should be employed. If local swelling and pain occur with exterior symptoms (such as aversion to cold and fever), Jiebiao Xiaodu San (Exterior-Releasing Detoxification Powder) is indicated; if interior symptoms (such as constipation and abdominal pain) are present, Gongli Xiaodu San (Interior-Purging Detoxification Powder) is used; if pathogenic factors reside in the meridians, Tuoli Rongwei Tang (Supporting Interior Nourishing Ying-Wei Decoction) is prescribed; if suppuration is imminent, Tuoli Xiaodu San (Supporting Interior Detoxification Powder) is applied; if pus has formed but not yet ruptured, Bazhen Tang (Eight Treasures Decoction) is suitable. Treatment must distinguish between the initial and late stages of the disease, adjusting purgative and tonifying methods according to the condition. As long as the medication matches the syndrome, no case will remain incurable.
Jiawei Danggui San (Modified Angelica Sinensis Powder): Harmonizes Qi and Blood, resolves exterior and interior disharmony, unblocks the heart and abdomen, and regulates various diseases. It is also used for spontaneous diarrhea due to stagnant heat-warmth pathogens, restlessness, and irritability.
Ingredients: Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, wine-washed), Chishao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra, each 2 liang), Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong, 5 qian), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis, half raw and half roasted), Dahuang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, half raw and half processed, each 1 liang), Mahuang (Herba Ephedrae, processed, 5 qian). Add Huanglian (Radix Coptidis) if needed. For Erysipelas (Dan Du), add Lianqiao (Fructus Forsythiae) and Jingjie (Herba Schizonepetae).
Usage: Take 3 qian per dose, decoct with Shengjiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens), Congbai (Sclerium Allii Cepae), and Dengxincao (Medulla Sparganii) in water. (Note: Do not use Congbai for Erysipelas).
Niubangzi Tang (Arctii Fructus Decoction): Treats fever and irritability due to wind-cold injury, nasal congestion, panting, cough with phlegm, fright crying, purple-red sores, erysipelas, and sore throat/swelling.
Ingredients: Niubangzi (Fructus Arctii, fried and crushed, 3 liang), Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae, de-rhizome, 1 liang), Boheye (Folium Menthae Haplocalycis, 1 liang), Jingjiesui (Cacumen Schizonepetae, de-stem, 4 liang), Dahuang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, 1.5 liang), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis, 1.2 liang). For Erysipelas, add Maren (Semen Cannabis, fried and crushed).
Usage: Take 3 qian per dose, decoct in water.
Sihuang San (Four Yellows Powder): Treats all types of heat-toxin sores in children characterized by dryness, itching, and weeping that does not dry up.
Ingredients: Huanglian (Radix Coptidis), Huangbai (Cortex Phellodendri Amurensis), Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae Baicalensis), Dahuang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei), Huashi (Talcum, each 1 liang), Wen Ge (Concha Meretricis et Cyclinae, cleaned of debris, 5 qian).
Usage: Grind into fine powder, mix with clear sesame oil, and apply topically.
Yi Mojīn (One Stroke Gold): Treats widespread sores in children, characterized by erosion, dryness, pain, and continuous weeping. This is often due to wind transforming into parasites accumulating in the skin, causing progressive infiltration. Using only insect-killing drugs treats the symptom but not the root cause.
Ingredients: Lilu (Radix Veratri Albii, washed and baked), Shechuangzi (Fructus Cnidii, cleaned of soil), Huangdan (Lithargyrum, water-floated, each 1 liang), Liuhuang (Sulfur), Chishizhi (Halloysitum Rubrum), Baifan (Alumen, calcined), Huangbai (Cortex Phellodendri Amurensis), Wubeizi (Galla Chinensis, cleaned of insects, each 5 qian), Qingfen (Calomel, 5.5 liang).
Usage: Grind each ingredient separately into powder, mix uniformly, add fresh pig lard, and pound into a paste. Apply to the affected area, or mix with clear sesame oil for application.
Jiebiao Xiaodu San (Exterior-Releasing Detoxification Powder): Treats pediatric sores/toxins with high, swollen, painful lesions, normal bowel movements, floating and surging pulse, and exterior symptoms.
Ingredients: Huangqi (Radix Astragali Membranacei, upper part wine-fried, middle part rice-water soaked, lower part salt-water fried, 1.5 qian), Shengma (Rhizoma Cimicifugae Foetidae), Gegen (Radix Puerariae Lobatae), Chishao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra), Xuanshen (Radix Scrophulariae Ningpoensis), Niubangzi (Fructus Arctii, fried and crushed), Mahuang (Herba Ephedrae, de-jointed), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis, each 5 qian), Lianqiao (Fructus Forsythiae, 1 qian).
Additionally, based on the meridian involved, add guiding herbs: Hand Shaoyin (Heart Meridian), add Xixin (Radix et Rhizoma Asari), 3 fen; Foot Shaoyin (Kidney Meridian), add Duhuo (Radix Angelicae Pubescentis), 7 fen; Hand Taiyin (Lung Meridian), add Jiegeng (Radix Platycodonis) and Baizhi (Radix Angelicae Dahuricae), each 5 fen; Foot Taiyin (Spleen Meridian), add Cangzhu (Rhizoma Atractylodis Lanceae), 7 fen; Hand Jueyin (Pericardium Meridian), add Chaihu (Radix Bupleuri), 7 fen; Foot Jueyin (Liver Meridian), add Chaihu (Radix Bupleuri) and Qingpi (Cortex Citri Reticulatae Viridis), each 5 fen; Hand Taiyang (Small Intestine Meridian), add Bencao (Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong), 5 fen; Foot Taiyang (Bladder Meridian), add Qianghuo (Rhizoma Notopterygii), 7 fen; Hand Yangming (Large Intestine Meridian), add Baizhi (Radix Angelicae Dahuricae), 5 fen; Foot Yangming (Stomach Meridian), add Shengma (Rhizoma Cimicifugae Foetidae) and Gegen (Radix Puerariae Lobatae), each 7 fen; Hand Shaoyang (Sanjiao Meridian) and Foot Shaoyang (Gallbladder Meridian), both add Chaihu (Radix Bupleuri), 7 fen.
Usage: Decoct with one zhong of water, two slices of Shengjiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens), and one root of Congbai (Sclerium Allii Cepae) until reduced to seven-tenths.

Usage: Decoct with one zhong of water until reduced to seven-tenths. If stool is not relieved, take another dose.
Tuoli Rongwei Tang (Supporting Interior Nourishing Ying-Wei Decoction): Treats pediatric sores/toxins without significant external swelling, with normal internal bowel functions, indicating pathogenic factors in the meridians.
