Onychocryptosis (Ingrown Nail) may arise because the nail is too long and invades the flesh, or due to injury of healthy tissue during nail trimming, or because boots and shoes are too narrow; all these factors easily cause this condition. The lesion presents with flesh enveloping the nail, and the nail area exhibits severe swelling and pain, making walking difficult. In the early stage, it is advisable to apply Sanpin Yitiao Qiang (Three-Grade Single-Spear Powder) onto the flesh until the necrotic tissue dissolves, after which it will heal spontaneously; if the flesh becomes hard over time, Bing Si San (Ice Snail Powder) must be used to dissolve it, followed by the application of Zhenzhu San (Pearl Powder), which will surely lead to recovery.
Callosity of the Lip (Jian Chun) is a syndrome of the Yangming Stomach Meridian. It results from consuming fried foods, overeating roasted and爆裂 items, combined with excessive worry and irritability, causing phlegm to follow fire and deposit in the lips. Initially, it forms a nodule resembling a bean, gradually enlarging to resemble a silkworm cocoon, protruding, swollen, and hard, and in severe cases, painful; it hinders eating and drinking. If it ulcerates and bleeds for a long time, it may transform into Xike (Wasting-Thirst) or Xiaozhong (Middle Wasting), which are difficult to treat. For cases in the early stage or where the lesion has formed but without internal symptoms, moxibustion with an Ai Zhu (Moxa Cone) the size of a hemp seed for three burns is applied, covered with Chansu Bing Gao (Toad Venom Cake Plaster); over time, it will gradually subside. For cases with internal symptoms manifesting as thirst, Jiajian Bawei Wan (Modified Eight-Ingredient Pill) should be taken in the morning, and Qingliang Ganlu Yin (Clearing Cooling Sweet Dew Decoction) at noon, to nourish the source of transformation. If bleeding persists for a long time, the body becomes emaciated, deficiency heat and phlegm arise, the complexion is dark, the malar region appears red, and there is extreme dry mouth and thirst, these are considered incurable conditions.
Pi Pi (Abdominal Masses) all originate from excessive internal injury, where Qi and Blood move transversely and accumulate to form masses. Initially, one feels a small lump moving in the abdomen that causes pain when pulled; over time, it gradually enlarges and takes shape. In severe cases, there is internal throbbing, at which point Qi and Blood are necessarily weakened, and food intake decreases. Internally, Awei Huapi San (Asafoetida Pi-Dissolving Powder) is taken, and externally, Qiankun Yiqi Gao (Qiankun Single-Qi Plaster) is applied to expel evil pathogens and nourish righteous Qi, achieving balance through both attacking and tonifying methods.
