枇杷叶（刷去毛） 石斛 黄芩 麦门冬（去心） 生地黄 甘草（炙，各等分）
上 咀，每服五钱，水二盏，煎八分去渣，不拘时温服。
升麻饮
治口内生疮，齿断肉烂。
升麻 玄参 黄连 羚羊角（镑） 黄芩 葛根 大黄 麦门冬（去心） 羌活 防风 干
菊花（各半两） 人参 知母 甘草（炙，各一分）
上 咀，每服三钱，水一盏，煎至七分，去渣，食后温服。一方无人参，有牛蒡子。
黄连散
治口疮，绝妙。
黄连 朴硝 白矾（各半两） 薄荷（一两）
上为粗末，用腊月黄牛胆，将药入胆内，风头挂两月取下。如有口疮，旋将药研细入于
口疮上，去其热涎即愈。
黄柏散
治茧唇。
黄柏（一两） 五倍子（二钱） 密陀僧 甘草（各少许）
上除黄柏外，余药同为细末，水调匀敷于黄柏上，火炙三五次，将黄柏切成薄片，临睡
贴之，天明即愈。
绛雪丹
治咽喉肿痛，咽物困难及口舌生疮。
片脑（半字） 硼砂（二钱） 辰砂（三钱） 朴硝 寒水石（各二钱）
上为细末研匀，每用一字掺于舌上，津咽之。
治喉内生痈方
五倍子 白僵蚕 甘草（各等分）
上为细末，用白梅肉和丸，含化，其痈自破。
Treatment for sores on the mouth and tongue, and bleeding gums accompanied by Heart heat (excess heat in the Heart organ).
Loquat Leaf (brushed to remove hairs) [Eriobotryae Folium], Dendrobium [Dendrobii Caulis], Scutellaria Root [Scutellariae Radix], Ophiopogon Tuber [Ophiopogonis Radix] (core removed), Raw Rehmannia Root [Rehmanniae Radix], Licorice Root [Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma] (honey-fried, equal parts).
Crush the above herbs. Take 5 qian per dose, add 2 zhan of water, decoct until reduced to 8 fen, strain off the dregs, and take warm at any time.
Shengma Yin (Cimicifugae Decoction)
Treatment for sores inside the mouth, loose teeth, and rotting gums.
Cimicifuga Rhizome [Cimicifugae Rhizoma], Scrophularia Root [Scrophulariae Radix], Coptis Rhizome [Coptidis Rhizoma], Antelope Horn [Saigae Tataricae Cornu] (sliced thin), Scutellaria Root [Scutellariae Radix], Kudzu Root [Puerariae Lobatae Radix], Rhubarb [Rhei Radix et Rhizoma], Ophiopogon Tuber [Ophiopogonis Radix] (core removed), Notopterygium Rhizome [Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix], Saposhnikovia Root [Saposhnikoviae Radix], Dried Chrysanthemum Flower [Chrysanthemi Flos] (each 0.5 liang), Ginseng Root [Panacis Ginseng Radix], Anemarrhena Rhizome [Anemarrhenae Rhizoma], Licorice Root [Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma] (honey-fried, each 1 fen).
Crush the above herbs. Take 3 qian per dose, add 1 zhan of water, decoct until reduced to 7 fen, strain off the dregs, and take warm after meals. Another prescription omits Ginseng and uses Arctium Fruit [Arctii Fructus] instead.
Huanglian San (Coptis Powder)
Treatment for mouth sores, with excellent results.
Coptis Rhizome [Coptidis Rhizoma], Mirabilite [Natrii Sulfas], Alum [Alumen], Mint Herb [Menthae Haplocalycis Herba] (1 liang).
Grind the above herbs into a coarse powder. Use the gallbladder of an ox slaughtered in the twelfth lunar month, place the medicine inside the gallbladder, and hang it in a windy place for two months before removing it. If there are mouth sores, grind the medicine finely and apply it directly to the sores; clearing away the hot saliva will lead to recovery.
Huangbai San (Phellodendron Powder)
Treatment for Callous Lip (a condition characterized by thickening and hardening of the lips).
Phellodendron Bark [Phellodendri Chinensis Cortex] (1 liang), Chinese Gall [Gallae Chinensis], Lead Monoxide [Lithargyrum], Licorice Root [Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma] (small amounts of each).
Except for Phellodendron Bark, grind the remaining herbs into a fine powder. Mix with water to form a paste, apply it onto the Phellodendron Bark, roast over fire three to five times, slice the Phellodendron Bark thinly, and apply it before sleep; recovery will occur by morning.
Jiangxue Dan (Crimson Snow Pill)
Treatment for sore throat, swelling, difficulty swallowing, and sores on the mouth and tongue.
Borneol [Borneolum Syntheticum] (half zi), Borax [Borax], Cinnabar [Cinnabaris], Mirabilite [Natrii Sulfas], Aragonite [Aragonitum] (each 2 qian).
Grind the above substances into a fine powder and mix evenly. Use half a zi amount, sprinkle on the tongue, and swallow with saliva.
Prescription for Treatment of Abscess Inside the Throat
Chinese Gall [Gallae Chinensis], White Silkworm [Bombyx Batryticatus], Licorice Root [Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma] (equal parts).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Mix with the flesh of white plums to form pills, hold in the mouth to dissolve slowly; the abscess will rupture spontaneously.
