盖人病梦遗，由于肾水耗竭，上不能通于心，中不能润于肝，下不能生于脾，以致玉关
不闭，无梦且遗。法当大补肾，而少佐以益心、益肝、益脾之品。方用∶
熟地（一两） 山萸（四钱） 茯苓（三钱） 生枣仁（五钱） 北五味（一钱） 白
芍（三钱） 当归（三钱） 薏仁（三钱） 白术（五钱） 茯神（二钱） 肉桂（五分）

一剂即止，十剂不犯。
此方妙在五脏兼补，而使心肾两交，自然魂魄宁而精窍闭矣。
此虚火炎上，而肺金之气不能下行故耳。若用黄柏、知母，煎汤饮之，立时消散；然自

如妇人得此症，加白芍一两、柴胡二钱、黑栀子二钱，去肉桂，治之最神效。
In cases of nocturnal emission, the condition arises from the exhaustion of Kidney Water (Shen Shui), which fails to communicate upward with the Heart, nourish the Liver in the middle, or generate for the Spleen below. Consequently, the Jade Gate (Jing Guan, referring to the seminal gate) becomes unsecured, leading to emission even without dreams. The treatment principle should be to strongly tonify the Kidney, while slightly assisting with herbs that benefit the Heart, Liver, and Spleen. The prescription is as follows:
Prepared Rehmannia Root (Shu Di Huang, 1 liang), Cornus Fruit (Shan Yu, 4 qian), Poria (Fu Ling, 3 qian), Raw Sour Jujube Seed (Sheng Zao Ren, 5 qian), Northern Schisandra Berry (Bei Wu Wei Zi, 1 qian), White Peony Root (Bai Shao, 3 qian), Angelica Sinensis (Dang Gui, 3 qian), Coix Seed (Yi Yi Ren, 3 qian), Atractylodes Macrocephala (Bai Zhu, 5 qian), Poria with Hostwood (Fu Shen, 2 qian), Cinnamon Twig (Rou Gui, 5 fen).
One dose stops the emission; ten doses prevent recurrence.
The brilliance of this formula lies in its simultaneous tonification of the Five Viscera, facilitating the interaction between the Heart and Kidney, thereby naturally calming the Hun and Po spirits and closing the essence aperture.
This condition results from deficient fire flaming upward, preventing the Qi of Lung Metal from descending. If one were to use Phellodendron Bark (Huang Bo) and Anemarrhena Rhizome (Zhi Mu) decocted in water for drinking, the fire would dissipate immediately; however, this approach damages the Original Qi (Yuan Qi).
Scrophularia Root (Xuan Shen, 3 liang), Ophiopogon Tuber (Mai Dong, 3 liang), Cinnamon Twig (Rou Gui, 3 fen), decocted in water and taken orally.
The efficacy of this formula lies in using Scrophularia Root to drain the fire within the Kidney, Cinnamon Twig entering the residence (Kidney), and Ophiopogon assisting the Qi of Lung Metal to descend clearly and purely, thereby generating Kidney Water.
