Women suffering from wind-phlegm syndrome are caused by wind-cold invading the zang-fu organs, leading to the retention and accumulation of fluid-dampness, which gathers in the chest and diaphragm. Everyone has phlegm; when it is scanty, it causes no obstruction. When excessive, it becomes a pathology. If there is phlegm-fluid in the chest and diaphragm, soaking the five zang organs, it causes eye pain, as well as dizziness and headache.
