The eyes have no opacity (clouding of the cornea or lens, etc.), but vision is lost; this is called Qingmang (Green Blindness). This occurs because there is retained fluid (pathological product caused by water metabolism disorder) within the internal organs of the child without heat pathogen, specifically due to drinking water stagnating and accumulating in the Liver.
Formula for Yang Zi Gan San (Sheep Liver Powder) to treat pediatric Qingmang with loss of vision:
Rui Ren (Prunus persica Seed / Amygdalus communis Seed, 1 fen, soaked in hot water and peeled) Fang Feng (Saposhnikovia Root / Radix Saposhnikoviae, 1 fen, remove the radicle head) Xiang Chi (Prepared Soybean / Semen Sojae Preparatum, 1 fen, stir-fried until yellow) Jing Quan Shi (Halloysitum Rubrum / Halloysite, 0.5 liang, finely ground)
Crush the above herbs and sieve them through a fine mesh into a powder. Take one slice of sheep liver, cook it together with the medicine until the liver is tender. For children aged four or five years, divide into two doses, taken with newly drawn cold water.
