During pregnancy, contracting Taiyang Cold Damage (Shanghan) in winter due to cold pathogen invasion. For mild cases, symptoms include slight aversion to wind (Xixi Ehan), mild fever (Xixi Fare), slight cough, and nasal congestion; these resolve within a few days without medication. One may use three to five stalks of scallion white part (with roots), San slices of fresh ginger, decocted in water and taken orally to resolve the condition. If the contracted pathogen is severe, causing headache, initial aversion to cold followed by fever, it will eventually damage the fetus. Medication requires caution and avoidance of certain substances; one must not treat it generally as with non-pregnant women by indiscriminately using diaphoretic methods, which could harm the fetus and endanger both mother and child. Simply taking Congbai Xiangchi Tang (Scallion White and Fermented Soybean Decoction) allows for self-healing. Thus, *Qianjin Fang* treats pregnant women with Shanghan using scallion white and fresh ginger, decocted in water, taken hot to induce sweating, after which the patient becomes stable. Therefore, Congbai Xiangchi Tang and Xiangsu San can release exterior pathogens while also stabilizing the fetus. Moreover, scallion white not only releases the exterior but also effectively secures a living fetus and expels a dead fetus. For a pregnant woman affected by cold where the fetus is injured but not yet dead, boiling a handful of scallions in water and consuming them induces sweating and ensures safety. If the fetus has already died, it will naturally be expelled shortly; if not, add fresh ginger and Perilla Leaf (Ziye); do not lightly use exterior-releasing drugs to invite further complications. If the pathogen is in the Shaoyang stage (half-exterior, half-interior) during pregnancy, select Huanglong Tang from *Bencao Gangmu*, which is a variation of Xiaochaihu Tang; its modifications can also be adopted. If exterior symptoms have resolved but high fever and intense thirst persist, use Xiangsu San plus Jinhua Tang. For constipation, add Rhubarb (Dahuang). Alternatively, use Sanhuang Jiedu Tang. This is because pre-natal epidemic diseases and Yangming Fu syndrome in Shanghan involve internal excess and constipation; urgent purgation is required to prevent fetal damage. If spontaneous diarrhea occurs, it indicates leakage of healthy Qi, making the fetus difficult to preserve. Only when urination and defecation are normal, indicating no heat in the interior, is the fetal Qi unharmed. Regarding febrile diseases in pregnancy, urgent treatment is necessary to avoid miscarriage. *Qianjin Fang* uses Congbai Xiangchi Tang, taking the juice, which leads to recovery. Other formulas include Chaige Antai Yin for stabilizing the fetus in febrile diseases; Shengjin Gegen Tang for vomiting and irritability; Zhizi Congchi Tang for blackish macules; and Jiawei Huaban Tang used by Mi Zhai. These are all formulas for Heat entering the interior, corresponding to Yangming syndrome. *Yitong* recommends emergency treatment with *Qianjin Fang* Shigao Daqing Tang for pregnant women with warm-heat epidemics or Shanghan pathogens invading internally, where heat toxins threaten the fetus, to ensure preservation; delay renders it incurable. Also recorded are Shigao Liuhe Tang and Shengma Liuhe Tang, which are very stable prescriptions, listed below for reference. In pregnancy medications, if Dahuang must be used for purgation, it should be wine-processed. Ginger, Cinnamon Twig (Guizhi), and Aconite Root (Fuzi) processed with Scutellaria Root (Huanglian) and Licorice Root (Gancao) become harmless.
