[Discussion 1]
Women who are infertile often suffer from damage caused by the Seven Emotions (Joy, Anger, Worry, Thought, Sorrow, Fear, Fright), resulting in blood deficiency and qi excess, irregular menstruation. The menstrual cycle may be early or late, with flow being excessive or scanty; the color may be pale like water, or purple with clots; or there may be metrorrhagia and metrostaxis (abnormal uterine bleeding) and leukorrhea (vaginal discharge); or abdominal pain, or a cold and deficient uterus, preventing conception. It is suitable to take this medicine, which has miraculous efficacy.
Tiaojing Zhongyu Decoction (Regulate Menstruation and Jade-Enriching Decoction) transmitted by Shaocan Yao Fanchuan.
Danggui Shen (Radix Angelicae Sinensis Stem, washed with wine, 4 qian) Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong, 4 qian) Baishao (Radix Paeoniae Alba, stir-fried with wine, 3 qian) Shudihuang (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata, steamed with wine, 6 qian) Baifuling (Poria, peeled, 3 qian) Chenpi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, 3 qian) Xiangfumiao (Rhizoma Cyperi Rotundi, stir-fried, 4 qian) Wuzyuyu (Fructus Evodiae, stir-fried, 4 qian) Yuanhusuo (Rhizoma Corydalis, 3 qian) Mudanpi (Cortex Moutan, 3 qian).
If menstruation arrives early and is purple, it indicates blood deficiency with heat; add Tiaohuangqin (Scutellariae Radix, 3 qian). If menstruation is delayed and pale, it indicates blood deficiency with cold; add Guangui (Cinnamomi Cortex, 3 qian), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma, stir-fried, 3 qian), and Aye (Folium Artemisiae Argyi, stir-fried with vinegar, 3 qian).
The above herbs are cut into pieces to make four doses. For each dose, add three slices of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), one and a half bowls of water, and decoct until one bowl remains. Take warm on an empty stomach. Decoct the dregs again and take before bedtime. Stop taking the medicine on the day menstruation starts and engage in intercourse to conceive. If pregnancy does not occur, wait for the next expected period and take another four doses when menstruation begins; pregnancy is certain.
[Discussion 2]
