Pediatric patients may accidentally swallow various foreign bodies into the throat. The objects cannot be swallowed down nor expelled, obstructing food and fluid intake and causing difficult breathing. In severe cases, there is a sensation of blockage and stabbing pain, which becomes unbearable in moments, leading to critical danger.
Magnetitum (Cishi): Treats accidental swallowing of needles stuck in the throat. Take Magnetitum the size of a jujube pit, grind it until smooth, drill a hole through it, thread it with a string, and secure it. Let the child hold it in the mouth; the needle will emerge on its own. If a coin is swallowed, use Magnetitum the size of a jujube.
Another prescription: Treats accidental swallowing of bamboo or wood splinters into the throat. Heat a steelyard weight until red-hot, soak it in wine, and drink the infused wine.
Another prescription: Treats accidental swallowing of gold, silver, copper, iron coins or other objects stuck in the throat. Take the root of *Nandina domestica* (Nantianzhu), burn it to ash, grind it finely, and administer one qian mixed with boiled water. The object will be expelled immediately.
Tongqi San (Ventilation Powder):
Treats the above conditions, as well as hooks, ropes, or similar items stuck in the throat.
Ingredients: Goose feather (one qian, burned to ash), Magnetitum (a piece the size of a soap pod), Ivory (one qian, burned until carbonized).
Grind all ingredients into a fine powder. Administer half a qian per dose, mixed with fresh spring water.
Another prescription: Treats accidental swallowing of gold, copper, silver, iron coins, etc., stuck in the abdomen. Take Ferri Carbonas (Duanshi) approximately the size of a soap pod and Sulfur (Huangshi) approximately the size of a soap pod. Grind them together into a powder and administer with wine.
Another prescription: Treats the above condition. Take Galena (Hufen), one liang, mix with water, and divide into doses according to the child's age and size.
Another prescription: Treats fish bones stuck in the throat. Take a small amount of Cinnabar (Shasha), chew in the mouth, and swallow. The bone will be expelled immediately.
Another prescription: Treats the above condition. Cover the neck with an old fishing net; the object will descend. If this fails, boil the net in water, strain, and drink the decoction. The object will be expelled immediately.
Another prescription: Treats the above condition. Burn cormorant feathers to ash, mix with water, and administer according to the child's age and size.
Another prescription: Treats all kinds of bone splinters, bamboo/wood pins, and obstructions that cannot pass. In the twelfth lunar month, collect the gallbladder of the mandarin fish (Guinyu), dry it in the shade under the north eaves. Use a small amount each time, dissolve in wine by heating, and sip warm. If vomiting occurs, the obstruction will be expelled with the vomitus. If not vomited, take another dose. Even if the splinter has been swallowed into the abdomen, causing long-term pain, sallow complexion, and emaciation, this medicine can still expel it. It is extremely effective. If mandarin fish is unavailable, the gallbladders of grass carp, common carp, or *Liza* fish can also be used. This also treats sore throat (Houbi).
Another prescription: Treats plum or peach pits stuck in the throat. Boil a dog's head in water, use the decoction to gargle and swallow.
Another prescription: Treats all foreign bodies stuck in the throat. Take *Dianthus superbus* (Qumai), grind into powder, and administer half a qian or one qian mixed with water.

It treats bites and stings from snakes, scorpions, and various insects where venom enters the abdomen, causing abdominal distension and fullness, spleen accumulation masses, wind-phlegm, and milk stagnation. For conditions unresponsive to other medicines, taking this drug yields immediate results. It moistens the Triple Jiao, eliminates five shell-like accumulations, removes nine types of parasites, benefits the Five Zang organs, wards off epidemic fevers, and treats everything without exception.
