The four limbs are the root of all Yang meridians. When Yang Qi is abundant, the four limbs are solid; when solid, the body feels light and agile. If there is trembling or shaking of the hands and feet with an inability to hold objects, this is due to the deficiency and damage of True Yuan (Original Qi). Regularly taking Jin Ye Dan (Golden Liquid Pill) five taels, along with Jiang Fu Tang (Ginger and Aconite Decoction), will lead to self-healing. If 300 moxa cones are applied to Guan Yuan (CV-4), the root of the disease will be permanently eradicated. (Trembling of hands and feet is a lifelong chronic ailment. If it appears at the onset of Shang Han (Cold Damage), it is often difficult to treat. If caused by excessive sweating damaging Ying (Nutritive) Qi, heavy doses of herbs to support Yang should be used. If accompanied by mental confusion, it is also considered untreatable.)
Young people who overconsume cold, raw, hard foods and wheat products cause cold Qi to accumulate and stagnate. In old age, when Pi (Spleen) Qi becomes deficient, a sound like flowing water may be heard under the hypochondrium. With the presence of Water Qi, stool may pass involuntarily. Si Shen Dan (Four Spirit Pill) and Jiang Fu Tang can be taken; for severe cases, Mian Guan (ST-25, note: text says Ming Guan, likely referring to a specific point or typo for Ming Men/ST area, but strictly following text: Ming Guan acupoint) should be moxibusted. This disease must be treated early; delay often causes harm to the person. Furthermore, if both Pi (Spleen) and Shen (Kidney) are deficient, urination may also become involuntary. Cao Shen Dan (Grass God Pill) can be taken for five days to show effects. (For elderly fecal incontinence, warm and consolidating moxibustion is appropriate. Using Cao Shen Dan for concurrent urinary incontinence is inadvisable as it contains Cinnabar and Amber.)
When the Spleen is deficient in the elderly, Qi rebels upward and presses against the Fei (Lung), causing panting upon movement. One must absolutely avoid using harsh, bitter-cold drugs that deplete Qi, as this severely damages the Spleen and Stomach, potentially leading to Dan Zhang Fu (Single Abdominal Distension). He can be cured by taking Cao Shen Dan, Jin Ye Dan, and Jiang Fu Tang; for severe cases, moxibustion on Guan Yuan (CV-4) is indicated. The Kidney meridian penetrates the Lung system and the root of the tongue, primarily managing the transport and transformation of Jin Ye (Body Fluids), which are transported upward to the Lung. If Shen Qi (Kidney Qi) becomes deficient, it fails to nourish upwards, resulting in constant dryness of the mouth. If not treated early, death is imminent. One should apply 500 moxa cones to Guan Yuan (CV-4) and take half a jin of Yan Shou Dan (Longevity Pill) to recover. (Dry mouth and panting stem from the deficiency of Root Yuan and exhaustion of fluids. Quack doctors fail to consider remedial measures, still using descending and bitter-cold agents. Unashamed of their own lack of insight, they wrongly condemn the suitability of warming and tonifying methods. When sudden collapse occurs, they shift blame to previous medication errors. These low-status individuals are hardly worth discussing, yet it is lamentable that observers and listeners remain unaware of their absurdity, worshipping them as deities, and repeatedly falling into the same traps. Is this not tragic?)
