Only movement and excess are the causes of disease. Therefore, if the righteous qi (Zheng Qi, healthy energy) is not firmly maintained, pathogenic factors can invade the body. Using five types of medicines to attack from within aims merely to ensure that pathogenic factors cannot overcome righteous qi.
However, toxicity...
Decoctions...
Unceasing...
Prescriptions...
Huaguang San (Flower Light Powder): Treats cases of medication overdose where righteous qi is inadvertently damaged, leading to the invasion of the Eight Pathogens (Ba Xie, eight external pathogenic factors) into the Heart. It also treats conditions where three parasites transform into Gu poison (Gu syndrome), or Zhong E (Sudden Evil/Midnight Attack) occurs, or it transforms into Wu Lin (Five Types of Dysuria). Ingredients include: Tectona grandis fragment (Daimao Xie, 2.5 liang), Indigofera tinctoria fruit (Lan Shi, stir-fried 1.5 liang), Benzoin resin (Anxi Xiang, separately ground), Succinum (Hupo, 1 liang each), Rhizoma Polygoni Cuspidati (Renhuang, ground), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen), Moschus (Shexiang, separately ground), and Cyathula officinalis root (Guanzhong, 0.5 liang each). Except for those requiring separate grinding, all ingredients are crushed, sifted into powder, and mixed evenly. Take 1 qian per dose, administered with warm water. For children, take 0.5 qian, repeated every other day.
Chongde Wan (Chongde Pill): Treats abdominal acute pain caused by excessive use of cold-natured medicines to attack disease. It also addresses cold qi stored in the chest, Blood Gu (Xue Gu), Huoluan (Cholera-like syndrome), heart distension with shortness of breath, etc. Ingredients include: Artemisia argyi leaf (Ai Ye, stem removed, stir-fried 2 liang), Fungus (Jun, 1.5 liang), Syzygium aromaticum flower bud (Dingxiang, 1 liang), Terminalia chebula fruit (Helile, baked, pitted 1 liang), and Moschus (Shexiang, ground 0.5 liang). Except for those requiring separate grinding, ingredients are crushed, sifted into powder, and mixed uniformly. Made into pills using wine-boiled wheat flour paste, sized like Sophora japonica seeds. Take 20 pills per dose, morning and evening before meals, washed down with warm wine.
Medication overdose toxicity: Excessive consumption of Aconite wine causes toxicity to manifest. Symptoms include a head feeling heavy as if weighing a bushel, cracked lips with bleeding. Immediately seek Black Soybean (Heidou) and Mung Bean (Lvdou), chew several he (a traditional unit of volume) of each. Also decoct concentrated black mung bean soup and drink it together. Overconsumption of wind-dispelling medicines leads to chest oppression, confusion, and unconsciousness. Administer vinegar, decoct Licorice Root (Gancao) strongly, mix with fresh Ginger Juice (Shengjiang Zhi), and drink in one go. Additionally... Luotou Qing (Snail Head Green) finely ground.
Another prescription (from *Qianjin Fang*): Treats medication overdose and poisoning causing severe restlessness and desire to die; also resolves Wild Wolf Poison (Yelangdu). Crush Indigo plant (Lan) to extract juice, several sheng. If Indigo is unavailable, use rinsed blue silk to extract juice for drinking, which is also good. Another method uses medicinal water for administration.

Or umbilical pain with unbearable restlessness. Ingredients: Coptis chinensis rhizome (Huanglian, stir-fried), Phellodendron amurense bark (Huangbai, stir-fried), Glycyrrhiza uralensis root (Gancao, equal parts). All are cut into small pieces, decocted in water, and taken warm. Take before meals. If urination does not resume during the day, add Anemarrhena asphodeloides rhizome (Zhimu). This medicine assists Yin, allowing Qi transformation to restore flow.
Prescription to resolve Stone Medicine Overdose (from *Zhouhou Fang*). Ingredients: Red Lead (Huandan, 3 liang), Mirabilite (Mangxiao, 2 liang). Decoct in 5 sheng of water until 3 sheng remain. Divide into three doses. Recovery occurs upon bowel movement. Alternative: Decoct 5 sheng of Rehmannia glutinosa root (Dihuang) without water. Another method involves applying powder...
Treats diarrhea unceasing due to Croton seed (Badou) in medication (from *Shenghui Fang*). Ingredients: Dried Ginger (Ganjiang, roasted, cracked), Coptis chinensis rhizome (Huanglian, remove whiskers, stir-fried, 1 liang each). Make into fine powder. Take 2 qian mixed with water. Repeat after the time it takes to walk five li.
