[Supplementary Discussion]
The so-called "Re Du Luo Li" (Scrofula caused by Heat-Toxin) arises from the excess state of the internal Zang-Fu organs and the abundance of Qi and Blood. Internal accumulation of heat fails to diffuse and circulate smoothly. The Qi of Heat-Toxin flows into the regions between the neck and axillae, where it contends with the muscles and tissues to form lesions; hence it is termed Re Du Luo Li.
Formulas
Xuan Shen San (Cave-lixir Powder), sourced from *Taiping Shenghui Fang* (Imperial Grace Formulary of the Tai Ping Era), treats Re Du Luo Li, carbuncles, swellings, and pain. It is suitable for taking this formula to dissipate heat-toxin and eradicate the root cause.
