For various sores and carbuncles (Yong Ju), if Qi and Blood are deficient and weak, muscles are cold, pus is clear and thin, toxic pathogens cannot be expelled, the sore fails to heal for a long time, or there is localized swelling without redness, induration without pus formation, and external symptoms are not obvious, the method of supporting the interior (Tuo Li) should be adopted. This disperses pathogenic factors outward, promotes early pus formation, allows toxins to be discharged, and prevents internal invasion of organs.
