The condition of strabismus (deviation of the eye) is caused by deficiency in the Zang-Fu organs, allowing Wind pathogen to pull the eyeball. This misalignment causes the pupil to shift to one side, resulting in a deviated gaze. Some individuals have had this since childhood, while others develop it later in life; generally, it arises from Qi and Blood deficiency compounded by external Wind invasion.
*Longmu Lun* states: Regarding "Wind-Induced Oblique External Obstruction," when this eye disease first appears, it is due to Kidney deficiency and exhaustion, irregular sexual activity, and accumulation of toxic heat in the Spleen and Stomach. Massaging the eye acupoints at night can yield immediate results.
A verse states: Wind-induced traction causes oblique eyes, with uncontrollable tearing. After taking decoctions to eliminate Wind toxicity, apply Mofeng Gao (Wind-Massaging Ointment) for massage. If the eyelid muscles are lax, do not worry.
Wei Shi's *Dexiao Fang* states: For wind-induced traction causing bilateral oblique eyes, frequent tearing, without corneal opacity, itching, or pain, it is suitable to take Xiaofeng San (Eliminate Wind Powder).
