Licorice Root (Gancao), Shengma Rhizome (Shengma) (each 0.5 liang), Angelicae Radix (Danggui), Sichuan Pepper (Shujiao) (each 6 qian), Softshell Turtle Shell (Biejia) (1 liang). Cut the herbs into small pieces. Decoct with five sheng of water to obtain two and a half sheng of liquid. Divide into three doses. After the patient has walked for about five li, administer one dose immediately. Cover the body warmly to induce sweating. The pathogenic toxin should be expelled through sweat, and the disease will heal. If no sweat occurs, the pathogen is not eliminated. Re-decoct and administer. This is Zhang Zhongjing's formula, without Sichuan Pepper.
Fanyin Dan (Source: *Liuren Shu*), treats Yin Toxicity Cold Damage. Symptoms include mental restlessness and irritability, headache, cold limbs, cyanotic complexion, abdominal distension, and a deep pulse.
Sulfur (Tongming variety, 5 liang, separately ground), Niter (Xiaoshi) (separately ground), Taiyin Xuanjingshi (2 liang each, separately ground), Dried Ginger (Ganjiang) (prepared), Cinnamon Heart (Guixin) (each 0.5 liang), Aconite Root (Fuzi) (prepared, 0.5 liang). Use an iron pot. First, spread Xuanjingshi at the bottom. Next, add half of the Niter powder. Spread Sulfur powder in the middle. Cover with the remaining two-plus liang of powder. Cover with a small cup. Place on three jin of hot charcoal and burn until properly heated. Do not allow smoke to escape. Quickly cover with a clay basin and place on the ground. Cover all sides with ash. Do not allow smoke to escape. After cooling, take out and grind into fine powder. Add subsequent herbs and grind uniformly. Make pills the size of mulberry seeds using rice paste. Take 20 or 30 pills per dose, administered with Mugwort Leaf Tea (Aiyetang) in one go. The endpoint is sweating. If symptoms do not subside, apply moxibustion heavily below the navel at the Dantian and Qihai acupoints. If still unresolved, use the Scallion Ironing Method.
Scallion Ironing Method (Source: *Liuren Shu*), treats Qi deficiency and Yang collapse. Symptoms include cold body without pulse, faint breath, unconsciousness, and Yin Jue from Cold Damage. Do not use other medicines. Take a bundle of scallions, tie them with rope like a pancake filling, remove roots and leaves, keeping only the white part, about two cun long. Heat one side over fire until thoroughly warm, but not burning. Apply the hot side to the area below the patient's navel. Use an ironing pan with fire to iron it, allowing the heat from the scallion cake to penetrate into the abdomen. Prepare three or four more cakes. If one cake becomes unusable, replace it. Wait until the patient wakes up, limbs become warm, and sweat appears; then the illness resolves. Subsequently, administer Sini Tang to warm the interior. Previously, someone suffered from Cold Damage, unconscious, with limbs hard and cold as stone, unable to take medicine. Using this method led to recovery. Another method uses strong vinegar mixed with wheat bran, stir-fried hot, placed in a cloth bag for steaming ironing, which is better than the above method.

Daizhou Yinfu Gao (Substitute Moxibustion Yin Navel Paste) (Source: *Jisheng Bachui*). Patient suffered from drinking milk/whey and eating raw food, leading to diarrhea with purple-black blood more than ten times. Spleen and Stomach affected by Cold-Warm toxins. Administer Liushen Pingwei San 0.5 liang, plus Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome (Baizhu) 3 qian, to promote blood circulation in the waist and umbilical region. One dose leads to cure. Jiuguy said: For irritability and retraction of the scrotum, moxa Yanglingquan acupoint, located one cun below the knee, on the lateral margin. Yin diseases are internal. *Liuren Shu* prescribes Fanyang Dan, Danggui Sini Tang, and Jia Wuzhuyu Shengjiang Tang. Also moxa one cun below the navel, and three points one cun away from the four sides of the lower navel simultaneously. In severe cases, moxa Shimen point two cun below. Moxa urgently. Combine with the following herbs: Aconite Root (Fuzi), Iris Tectorii Root (Malizi), Cnidium Fruit (Shechuangzi), Evodia Fruit (Wuzhuyu), Cinnamon Bark (Rougui), Costus Root (Muxiang). Equal parts, grind into fine powder. Use one spoon of white flour, one spoon of herb powder, or half spoon each. Add natural ginger juice. Cook into a paste. Spread on paper, circle about three cun diameter. Apply to Guanyuan and Qihai acupoints below the navel. From evening to morning, the heat can substitute for hundred moxa cones. Also used for lower back pain.
Poyin Dan. Treats recent case of villager Li Xindaode who fell ill. Six pulses were deep and invisible; pressing deeply to the bone felt weak, tight, and forceful. Headache, body warm and irritable, cold fingertips and dorsum of hands, epigastric fullness and nausea. Two doctors had treated him, unaware of the condition, providing only Qi-regulating medicines. I diagnosed: This is True Yang trapped within Yin. This syndrome is not in Zhang Zhongjing's methods. People suffering from this, if using hot medicines to assist, will be blocked by Yin pathogens, unable to guide True Yang, instead generating guest heat. Using cold medicines will further consume the trapped True Fire. Must use medicines that break and scatter Yin pathogens and guide/activate True Fire, so Fire rises and Water descends, then resolve through sweating. I gave this medicine 200 pills as one dose, taken with cold salt water. Within half an hour, irritability and mania appeared, restless limbs. Family greatly alarmed. I said: This is commonly called "changing Yang." Soon after, it settled slightly. Slept briefly, then sweated profusely. Continued from dusk till dawn. Body cooled, disease removed.
Sulfur, Mercury (Shuiyin) (each 1 liang), Tangerine Peel (Chenpi), Green Tangerine Peel (Qingpi) (remove white pith, each 0.5 liang, powdered). First melt Sulfur in an iron pot. Then add Mercury. Make pills the size of mulberry seeds. Take 30 pills per dose. If irritable, take with cold salt water. For Yin syndromes, take with cold Mugwort water.
