[Names] Bamboo Paste.
Su Song stated: Tianzhu Huang (Calamus Resin) originates from the country of Tianzhu (India). It is often obtained from the interior of various bamboos today. People frequently adulterate it with burnt bones and Polygonum multiflorum powder, among other impurities.
Kou Zongshi stated: This is formed by dust and sand condensing within bamboo near the South Sea.
Su Song stated: This grows inside the bamboo, appearing like yellow earth adhering to the bamboo in sheets.
Li Shizhen stated: According to research, Wu monk Zan Ning said: Zhu Huang (Bamboo Yellow) grows in the Yong bamboo of the South Sea. This bamboo is extremely large, also known as Tianzhu. The interior contains a yellow substance that can treat diseases. The Bencao texts writing it as "Tianzhu" are incorrect. Bamboo itself also has yellow parts. This explanation is accurate.
