大秦国有地生羊,其羔生土中,国人筑墙围之。脐与地连,割之则死。但走马击鼓以骇之,

【Indications】Rebellious vomiting (Fanwei). Retain its medicinal nature (Cunxing, i.e., calcined or processed to preserve properties), mix one jin with jujube flesh and half the amount of Pingwei San powder evenly. Take one qian each time, mixed with boiling water on an empty stomach (from Ye Shi's *Zhai Xuan*).
【Appendix】Large-tailed Sheep: Shizhen said: Sheep tails are generally short, but in Hami and various regions of Dashi (Arabia/Persia), there are large-tailed sheep. They have fine hair and thin skin, with tails spreading widely to the sides, weighing ten to twenty jin; they must be carried by cart when walking. The *Book of Tang* calls them Spirit Sheep, stating they can treat toxic conditions.
Hu Sheep: *Fang Guo Zhi* states that Hu Sheep are produced in Dashi. They stand over three chi tall, with tails like fans. Every spring, their fat is harvested and the wounds sutured; if not harvested, they will die from bloating. Ye Sheng in *Shui Dong Ri Ji* says: Near Zhuanglang Wei by the snow mountains, there are Taoyang (Gluttonous Sheep). Locals harvest their fat annually, which regenerates shortly after.
Tuo Sheep: Produced in Linzhao and other areas, some weighing up to 100 jin. Guo Yigong's *Guang Zhi* mentions Western Region Donkey-Sheep, as large as donkeys. These belong to this category.
[Missing Character] Sheep (pronounced "Si"): Produced in the Northwest; its hide and hooves can be used for tapping lacquer.
Feng Sheep: Has meat on its back, humped like a camel, produced in Liangzhou commanderies and counties, also called Tuo Yang (Camel Sheep).
Earth-Born Sheep: Produced in the Western Regions. Liu Yu's *Record of Mission to the Western Regions* records: Planting sheep umbilical cords in soil and watering them causes them to grow upon hearing thunder, with the umbilical cord connected to the earth. Upon growing, startling them with wooden sounds severs the cord, allowing them to walk and graze.
In Daqin (Rome/Byzantium), there are Earth-Born Sheep; their lambs are born in the soil, surrounded by walls built by locals. The umbilical cord connects to the earth; cutting it kills the lamb. One must ride horses and beat drums to startle them; the shock severs the cord, allowing them to follow water and grass. Wu Ce's *Yuan Ying Ji* states: In the Western Regions, Earth-Born Sheep are grown by planting tibia bones in soil; hearing thunder causes lambs to emerge from the bones. Startling them with horses causes the umbilical cord to detach. Their hides can make mats. Another account says: People in the northern deserts plant sheep horns to grow sheep, which are rabbit-sized but fat and delicious. The three accounts differ slightly; it is unknown what is actually planted. Liu's account is likely correct, yet it remains miraculous. The subtlety of Creation is profound!
[Missing Character] Sheep: It is the essence of Earth; its liver corresponds to Earth. It has male and female forms, does not eat food. Ji Huanzi once unearthed one while digging. It is also the spirit of trees thousand years old, manifesting as a Green Sheep.
