[Red Dates (cooked and peeled) Sesame seeds (lightly stir-fried, these two ingredients pounded into a paste) Maoshan Atractylodes Rhizome (washed with rice water, stir-fried, and ground into powder) in equal parts.
Pound the three ingredients together to make pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 3 qian at a time, taken on an empty stomach with boiling water. This medicine is suitable for long-term use; it is quite appropriate for stopping leukorrhea and regulating Ying (nutritive) Qi.
Single Prescription:
Treating leukorrhea. Take 4 liang of white ginkgo nuts, 1 qian of sulfur (ground). Stir-fry the two ingredients together until the ginkgo nuts are cooked, remove the sulfur, chew the ginkgo nuts and swallow them with salt water on an empty stomach. It will stop after several courses of treatment.
Another Prescription:
Grind white balsam apple flowers into powder. Take 3 qian for the first dose, 2 qian for the second dose, and 1 qian for the third dose; it will heal in three days. For severe cases, start with 5 qian and reduce by 1 qian each subsequent dose; it will heal in five days. All doses should be taken on an empty stomach mixed with wine.
Yet Another Prescription:
For red leukorrhea, use red cockscomb flowers; for white leukorrhea, use white cockscomb flowers. Burn them to ash while preserving their medicinal properties, grind into powder, and take 2-3 qian with wine.
Yet Another Prescription:
Slice luffa root, mix with a large amount of wine seven times, grind into fine powder, and take with wine on an empty stomach.
Yet Another Prescription:
Grind mulberry leaves that have been exposed to frost into powder, and take 3 qian with wine.
Discussion by Danxi:
If a woman's menstrual flow is scanty and delayed, it is due to blood deficiency; use Si Wu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) added with Ren Shen (Ginseng) and Bai Zhu (Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome). If accompanied by phlegm, add Nan Xing (Arisaema Rhizoma), Ban Xia (Pinellia Tuber), and Chen Pi (Tangerine Peel). If menstrual flow is scanty and arrives early with a pale color, it is due to excessive phlegm; use Er Chen Tang (Two Aged Ingredients Decoction) added with Chuan Xiong (Szechwan Lovage Rhizome) and Dang Gui (Angelica Sinensis). If it arrives late, it is blood deficiency, and blood should be tonified; use Si Wu Tang added with Huang Qi (Astragalus Root), Chen Pi, and Sheng Ma (Cimicifugae Rhizome). If it arrives before the expected date, it indicates heat in both Qi and Blood; cool the blood and regulate Qi using Chai Hu (Bupleurum Root), Huang Qin (Scutellaria Root), Dang Gui, Bai Shao (White Peony Root), raw Ban Xia, and Xiang Fu (Cyperus Rhizome). If menstruation is irregular with pale, watery blood, tonify Qi and Blood using Ren Shen, [Huang Qi], Chuan Xiong, Dang Gui, Xiang Fu, and Bai Shao. If abdominal pain is also present, add Jiao Zhu (Charred Gelatin), Ai Ye (Mugwort Leaf), and Xuan Hu (Corydalis Rhizome). Pain occurring after menstruation is due to deficiency with internal heat. Pain occurring just before menstruation is due to blood excess, or alternatively Qi stagnation; add Tao Ren (Peach Kernel), Huang Lian (Coptis Rhizome), and Xiang Fu. Lower backache and abdominal pain just before menstruation indicate Qi stagnation and blood stasis; use Si Wu Tang added with Hong Hua (Carthamus Flower), Tao Ren, E Zhu (Curcuma Zedoaria Rhizome), Xuan Hu, Xiang Fu, and Mu Xiang (Aucklandiae Radix). If fever is present, add Huang Qin and Chai Hu. Purple blood with clots indicates heat; use Si Wu Tang added with Huang Lian and Chai Hu. Excessive phlegm occupying the position of the Sea of Blood leads to heavy menstruation and gradual dimness of vision, especially in obese individuals; use Nan Xing, Cang Zhu (Atractylodes Lancea Rhizome), Chuan Xiong, and Xiang Fu made into pills. In obese individuals with heavy menstruation arriving early, indicating excessive phlegm, blood deficiency, and heat, use the previous pill formula plus Huang Lian and Bai Zhu made into pills. For blood exhaustion and amenorrhea, use Si Wu Tang added with Tao Ren and Hong Hua. For amenorrhea due to excessive body fat, use Dao Tan Tang (Guiding Phlegm Decoction) added with Huang Lian and Chuan Xiong; Di Huang (Rehmannia Root) should not be used as it clogs the chest; if used, stir-fry it with ginger juice. For obese individuals who overeat and have irregular menstruation, this is damp-phlegm; use Cang Zhu, Ban Xia, Hua Shi (Talcum), Fu Ling (Poria), Bai Zhu, Xiang Fu, Chuan Xiong, and Dang Gui. If abdominal pain occurs near menstruation, use Si Wu Tang added with Chen Pi, Xuan Hu, Mu Dan Pi (Moutan Cortex), and Gan Cao (Licorice Root). If pain is severe, use Dou Lin Jiu (Soybean Dripping Wine); if pain is mild, use Tong Bian (Child's Urine) to cook Sha Ren (Amomum Fruit) (stir-fried) and Tiao Qin (Scutellaria Root) into pills. For excessive menstrual flow that cannot stop, use San Bu Wan (Three Tonifying Pills) added with Sha Gen (Dioscorea Nipponica Rhizome), Gui Ban (Tartar Testudinis), and Jin Mao Gou Ji (Cibotium Rhizome). For Yin deficiency with long-standing meridian blockage, astringent urination, and body pain, use Si Wu Tang added with Cang Zhu, Niu Xi (Achyranthes Root), Chen Pi, and raw Gan Cao. Additionally, use Cang Sha Wan (Cang Zhu and Cyperus Pills) added with Cang Er Zi (Xanthium Fruit), wine, and Shao Yao (Peony Root) as pills, swallowed with the decoction of the previous medicine. For excessive menstruation, use Chao Huang Qin (Stir-fried Scutellaria Root), Chao Bai Zhu (Stir-fried Atractylodes Rhizome), and Zhi Gui Ban (Roasted Turtle Shell) each 1 liang, Chao Huang Bo (Stir-fried Phellodendron Bark) 3 qian, Chun Gen Bai Pi (Toona Bark) 7.5 qian, and Xiang Fu Zi (Cyperus Fruit) 2.5 qian. Grind all into powder, make pills with wine paste, and take 50 pills on an empty stomach with plain water. For accumulated phlegm damaging the meridians causing amenorrhea and delirium at night, use Gua Lou Ren (Trichosanthes Seed) 1 liang, Pu Huang (Typha Pollen) 5 qian, Wu Zhu Yu (Evodia Fruit) 10 grains, Tao Ren 50 grains, Hong Qu (Red Yeast Rice) 2 qian, and Sha Ren 3 liang. Grind Ma Zha Mu (Hemp Residue Wood) into powder, dissolve cooking cake dough with ginger juice to make pills the size of paulownia seeds, and take 100 pills on an empty stomach. For all pains caused by blood stasis, use Xiang Fu 4 liang (boiled in vinegar), Wa Leng Zi (Clam Shell) 2 liang (calcined, boiled in vinegar overnight), Tao Ren 2 liang, Mu Dan Pi 1 liang, Zheng Da Huang (Steamed Rhubarb) 1 liang, Chuan Xiong 5 qian, and Hong Hua 5 qian. Grind into powder, make pills with steamed cake, size of paulownia seeds, and take 30-50 pills on an empty stomach with warm wine.
Da Wen Jing Tang (Great Warming of the Menses Decoction): Treats deficiency and damage to the Chong and Ren vessels, irregular menstruation, either excessive flow that does not stop or delayed absence, excessive bleeding from metrorrhagia, or pregnancy damaged by menstruation, with retained blood stasis, acute lower abdominal pain, and heat in the five centers.
Ingredients: Chuan Xiong, Dang Gui, Bai Shao, Ren Shen, Gan Cao, E Jiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin), Rou Gui (Cinnamon Twig), Mu Dan Pi, Wu Zhu Yu each 2 liang. [Sheng Jiang (Fresh Ginger)] washed seven times with water, Ban Xia 2.5 liang, Mai Dong (Ophiopogon Tuber) (decored) 5.5 liang. Take 5 qian per dose, decoct with ginger, and take hot on an empty stomach.
Di Gu Pi San (Lycium Bark Powder): Treats blood wind, physical weakness, thirst, and alternating chills and fever.
Ingredients: Di Gu Pi (Lycium Bark), Chai Hu each 1 liang; Zhi Qiao (Bitter Orange Fruit), Qian Hu (Peucedani Radix), [Huang Qi] each 6.5 qian; Bai Fu Ling (Poria with Bamboo Wood), Wu Jia Pi (Five-finger Tea Bark), Ren Shen, Gan Cao, Guan Gui (Cassia Twig).
Xian Tian Gui Yi Tang (Primordial Return to One Decoction): Ren Shen 8 qian, Bai Fu Ling (Poria) (peeled) 1 liang, Bai Zhu 1 liang (bran-stir-fried), Gan Cao 4 qian, Dang Gui 1.2 liang (wine-washed), Chuan Xiong 1 liang, Sheng Di 1 liang (wine-washed), Bai Shao 8 qian, Chuan Niu Xi 8 qian (wine-stir-fried), Xiang Fu, Chao Sha Ren (Stir-fried Amomum Fruit), Ban Xia, Mu Dan Pi each 7 qian, Chen Pi 6 qian.
The above fourteen ingredients are divided into ten doses. Take five doses before menstruation starts, then take five doses afterwards. Decoct with ginger and take on an empty stomach. Decoct the dregs again and take before bed. Once menstruation is regulated and pulse harmonious, pregnancy will occur. If the uterus has been cold for a long time, add Gan Jiang (Dried Ginger) and Rou Gui each 5 qian. If cold is severe, moxibustion on the abdomen below three cun is extremely effective. If the uterus is too hot, add Huang Bo, Zhi Mu, and Chai Hu each 6 qian. For leukorrhea, turbid urine, or white discharge, double the Ban Xia, add Bai Zhi (Angelica Dahurica Root) 1 liang and Sheng Ma 5 qian; for Qi stagnation, add Mu Xiang 3 qian. For consumptive disease with spontaneous sweating or aversion to cold and fever, add [Huang Qi] and Rou Gui. For cough, add E Jiao and Bei Mu (Fritillaria Bulb) each 4 qian. For consumptive heat and blood dryness, add Chai Hu and Bie Jia (Carapax Trionycis). For decreased appetite, double Bai Zhu and Chen Pi, add Hou Po (Magnolia Bark) and Shen Qu (Medicated Leaven) each 5 qian. For obese individuals with phlegm blocking the uterus, add Nan Xing and San Leng (Sparganium Rhizome) each 6 qian; for blood stasis, add Tao Ren, Xuan Hu, and Hong Hua each 4 qian, and Peng Zhen (Curcuma Osmorhiza Rhizome) 5 qian. If ineffective, remove Ren Shen, add Wu Ling Zhi (Trogopterus Dung) two pieces (half raw, half stir-fried) and Ru Xiang (Frankincense) 3 qian. For lower back and leg pain, add Du Zhong (Eucommia Bark) 1 liang, Tao Ren 4 qian, and Qiang Huo (Notopterygium Rhizome) 3 qian. For pain after menstruation, which is deficiency, add Dang Gui 8 qian, Shu Di (Prepared Rehmannia Root) 6 qian, and Wu Wei Zi (Schisandra Fruit) 3 qian. For abdominal pain with masses, remove Niu Xi, add San Leng and E Zhu each 6 qian, Tao Ren and Zhi Shi (Immature Bitter Orange) each 5 qian. Add Bing Lang (Areca Seed) 5 qian to the first five doses. For "Ghost Fetus," first administer Tao Ren, Gan Xi (Dry Knee? likely typo for Gan Jiang or similar), Rou Gui, She Xiang (Musk) etc. to expel it, then take this prescription. For early menstruation, add Huang Bo and Pu Huang each 5 qian; for late menstruation, add Gan Jiang and Mu Dan Pi each 5 qian; for metrorrhagia, add Lian Peng Hui (Lotus Pod Ash), Huang Qin each 5 qian, Shu Ai (Mugwort) 3 qian, Zhu Gu Hui (Pig Bone Ash) 6 qian, and Bai Zhi 6 qian. For wind-cold-dampness, add Qiang Huo 7 qian, Ru Xiang, Mo Yao (Myrrh), and Cang Zhu each 5 qian, and Qin Jiao (Gentiana Macrophylla Root) 3 qian. For heart and abdominal pain, add Da Fu Pi (Areca Pericarpium) and Mu Xiang each 3 qian, and Bing Lang 5 qian. For astringent and scanty urination, slightly add Zhu Ling (Polyporus) and Ze Xie (Alisma Rhizome). For virgins with astringent and irregular menstruation, add Liu Ji Nu (Artemisia Capillaris Herb) 6 qian; if ineffective, add Wei Mao (Equisetum Hiemale) 3 qian (also known as Gui Jian Yu), which is miraculous.
Zhong Yu Tang (Jade Planting Decoction): For women unable to conceive due to emotional injury, leading to blood deficiency and Qi excess, irregular menstruation (pale or purple), metrorrhagia, leukorrhea, abdominal pain, and uterine coldness preventing conception. Suitable to take:
Nan Xiong (Southern Szechwan Lovage Rhizome), Dang Gui 4 qian (wine-washed), Shu Di 6 qian, Bai Shao 1 qian, Chen Pi, Fu Ling, Yan Hu (Corydalis Rhizome), Mu Dan Pi, Chao Jiang (Stir-fried Ginger) each 3 qian, Xiang Fu, Chao Wu Zhu Yu (Stir-fried Evodia Fruit) each 4 qian, Guan Gui, Shu Ai (Mugwort) each 2 qian. For delayed and pale menstruation, add Jiang, Gui, Ai; for early and purple menstruation, no addition or subtraction is needed. Divide the above thirteen ingredients into four doses, starting to take on the day menstruation arrives. Each cycle, it is highly effective.

Single Prescription:

An Tai (Calming the Fetus)
Discussion by Danxi: Pre-natally, one should clear heat and nourish blood. If a parturient experiences fetal rebellion due to fire moving upwards causing panting, urgently use Xiang Fu and Tiao Qin (Scutellaria Root) ground into powder and taken to calm the fetus. Yi Mu Cao (Motherwort Herb) treats various pre- and post-natal diseases, moves Qi and nourishes blood; for difficult labor, it can be decocted into a paste. Di Huang Gao (Rehmannia Paste) and Niu Xi Gao (Achyranthes Paste) can also be taken.
Pregnancy involves deficiency of one zang organ. For example, if the Liver is deficient, its Qi can only generate the fetus and has no surplus. It cannot nourish the Liver, so the Liver is deficient and thus craves sour substances.
For pre-natal fetal calming, Bai Zhu and Huang Qin are excellent herbs. Tiao Qin is the holy herb for calming the fetus; people do not know this, thinking it is harmful and dare not use it, or mistakenly believe that damp-heat herbs can nourish the fetus. They do not realize that pre-natally one should clear heat, allowing blood to circulate in the meridians without reckless movement, thus nourishing the fetus. For fetal heat approaching the month of delivery, use San Bu Wan added with Chao Xiang Fu and Chao Bai Shao, made into pills with steamed cake. To suppress heat, use San Bu Wan made into Di Huang Gao pills. In the eighth and ninth months of pregnancy, one must smooth Qi using Zhi Qiao and Su Geng (Perilla Stem). Generally, if a pregnant woman's pulse is fine and even, delivery is easy; if large, floating, and slow, fire Qi is scattered, making delivery difficult, like carrying a boat over a dam. To secure the fetus, use Di Huang 5 fen, Gui Shen (Angelica Sinensis Root Body), Ren Shen, Bai Shao each 1 qian, Bai Zhu 1.5 qian, Chuan Xiong, Huang Qin each 5 fen, Chen Pi 1 qian, Gan Cao 3 fen, Huang Lian, Huang Bo each a small amount, Sang Shang Niu Xi (Achyranthes from Mulberry Tree, preferably seven-leaf variety) 2 qian per dose, decoct with a pinch of Yuan Mi (Glutinous Rice) and take. For blood deficiency and insecurity, use E Jiao. For pain, use Sha Ren because it stops pain, calms the fetus, and moves Qi.
Yan Tai San (Verifying Fetus Powder): 1 liang of Chuan Xiong powder, taken on an empty stomach with Ai Ye (Mugwort Leaf) decoction. Feeling slight movement indicates pregnancy; if no movement after one day, it is merely menstrual stagnation.
Method to Determine Sex: Deep pulse indicates male, floating pulse indicates female; enlarged left Chi pulse indicates male, enlarged right Chi pulse indicates female; reddening of palms at half pregnancy indicates male, bluish indicates female.
Bao Tai Wan (Fetal Securing Pills): Specifically treats repeated miscarriages and long-term infertility. Not necessary to take after seven months.

When nearly dry, add one large bowl of wine, boil together, remove dregs, and take warm. Pour into mouth if lockjaw occurs. If a person walks five li, take again; after three doses, birth/expulsion occurs.
Gui Tai (Ghost Fetus) looks like holding a urn. Use Zhan Gui Dan (Ghost Slashing Pill). Wu Zhu Yu, Chuan Xiong, Qin Jiao, Chai Hu, Bai Jiang Can (Silkworm), refine honey to make pills the size of paulownia seeds, take with wine, seven pills... (Text incomplete).
